Fender Blues Junior IV 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier

collapse expand iconDescription

The latest iteration of Fender's popular Blues Junior tube combo amp, the Blues Junior IV packs improved tone and functionality into a familiar package. Perfect for practice, recording or gigging, this 15W amp is ideal for players seeking authentic tube tone at an affordable price. The Blues Junior IV's vintage-styled tweed covering encloses an upgraded circuitry and a custom-designed 12" Celestion speaker, providing enhanced bass response and sparkling highs.

Upgraded Circuitry Delivers Benchmark Tube Tone

The Blues Junior IV features an upgraded circuitry with improved components for greater tonal flexibility and reduced noise. Its 12AX7 preamp tubes and EL84 power tubes provide the warm, dynamic tone that has made the Blues Junior legendary. From crisp cleans to growling overdrive, the Blues Junior IV nails the full range of classic tube tones that have defined rock, blues and more.

12" Celestion Speaker Enhances Low End and Highs

Fender collaborated with Celestion to design a custom 12" speaker that enhances the Blues Junior IV's tone. With improved low-end thump and sparkling highs, the Celestion speaker helps the Blues Junior IV achieve a balanced, full-range sound that traditional Blues Juniors lacked. From thick rock chords to single-note jazz lines, the Blues Junior IV reproduces each note faithfully and dynamically.

Vintage Styling with Modern Playability

While the Blues Junior IV retains the vintage-inspired tweed covering and control panel of previous versions, several updates improve playability and functionality. An upgraded control panel provides better visibility on dark stages, and the tweed covering has been reinforced for improved durability.

Ready for my Desert Island

I bought my new Fender Blues Jr v4 about 2 months ago from a guy who decided he was more of a "Marshall Guy After All" so I got a bargain, but that was just the beginning. I wanted to spend some time and several sessions playing with this thing before I rushed into a review, but it turns out my first impressions have been even more reinforced since playing this thing for several hours, and the big word here is WOW. I have been playing for over 62 years (that's right, got my first guitar at 7) and bought my first Strat in high school. I've played and owned a LOT of different amps, and even now I have a few pieces for which I have some sentiment, but now it seems I will have to seriously reconsider. Good thing there is no "Amp Limit Law", but if there was I could finally happily liquidate all the others if I could have just my new Blues Jr. I have read voraciously for years about concepts such as "touch sensitive", "controlling breakup with the guitar volume", "takes pedals well", etc. Turns out these have only been myths to me all this time until now. Everything good and superlative that's been written about this amp is absolutely true. The preamp section is like pure magic in shaping the tone and delivering it to my favorite—EL84 power amp section. I have never been a fan of the usual Fender tube lineup, and when I heard this runs EL84s I was already excited. I am still a Strat guy to this day and love everything about it. But I have never even dreamed it could sound so good. I have an Egnater Rebel 20, a vintage Crate 15 watt blonde with a Dr Z speaker, and my prior favorite—a 5 watt Epiphone Valve Jr into a 12" Eminence Lady Luck. I have some others, but nothing I own or have owned can even come close to this thing. And what has been said about the Celestion speaker choice is again, absolutely right on. The sound from this amp would be as if you had an old Deluxe Reverb, did a cap job, retube, and maybe speaker upgrade. I guess I'm trying to say that it sounds

Bought used at Guitar Center. Speaker was blown.

Great amp. I bought one used from GC. The speaker was blown. I didn't crank it in the store, so I couldn't hear it. Plus all the screws on the amplifier were loose, including the screws holding in the speaker. I tightened them all up and the speaker still sounds horrible. So I bought a replacement speaker not too happy about the amp purchase. I would recommend for a friend if the amplifier was in 100% working condition.

Great combo with our Strat Pro II. The controls have a nice feel and the sound is rich and warm. There is nothing like how the Fender products are made and designed. Plenty of sound at home with the volume under 3, but I'm sure it can do a lot more if I'm not worried about the neighbors. #sweepstakes

I've been playing a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for a couple of decades now. I was looking for an amp that would give me the same sound as the Deluxe but weighed less. Really, purchasing this amp was a no brainer. If you catch my drift?

It is a basic tube amp. Sounds good if you leave the reverb off.

Bought mine in 2006. Got home and was not impressed. Went back the next day and bought a Boss DS-1. It turned into a Rock Machine. It's Fantastic !
