Description
The Fender Buck Owens Signature Kingman acoustic-electric guitar lets you craft the bright, twangy sound of the Bakersfield country music scene. Modeled after Buck Owens' own guitar, this limited-edition signature model features a solid Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides for balanced warmth and projection. Its slim, comfortable mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard provide smooth playability for intricate solos and chord melodies. The Kingman's Fishman Presys VT Plus pickup system captures the guitar's natural tone for live performance. For authentic Bakersfield country tone and feel, plug in the Fender Buck Owens Signature Kingman.
Iconic Look and Sound
The Kingman's classic dreadnought body shape and tonewood combination produce the mellow warmth and crisp articulation Buck Owens was known for. Its solid Sitka spruce top delivers a light, airy tone with piano-like bass and sparkling highs. Its mahogany back and sides add midrange depth and focus. Together, these premium woods achieve an ideal balance of chime and warmth for playing Buck's signature songs.
Smooth Playability
The Kingman's mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard feel familiar and fast under your fingers. Its slim profile and medium fret size allow chords and melodies to ring out with clarity. The bone nut and 25.6" scale length provide optimal string tension for tight, in-tune bass notes and shimmering treble tones. Whether you're playing "Act Naturally" or improvising solos, the Kingman's playability inspires you to make music.
Plug in and Perform
The Fishman Presys VT Plus pickup system captures the Kingman's resonant tone for live shows or recording. A volume control and pickup blend knob allow balancing the guitar's natural acoustic sound with the piezo pickup. Use the body pickup alone for an amplified acoustic tone or blend in the piezo for more cut and clarity. However you shape its tone, the Kingman projects with the same power and detail as Buck's guitar.
A Piece of Country History
As Buck Owens' first signature guitar, the Kingman lets you experience the instrument behind his pioneering Bakersfield sound. Its premium design and appointments honor Buck's musical legacy. The guitar's label and truss rod cover feature Buck's signature, while its aged white tuning machines and nickel hardware match his original guitar. For authentic vintage-inspired tone from a country music legend, plug in the Fender Buck Owens Signature Kingman today.

I own 3 other Fender acoustics. A California Series Redondo Player, A California Series Newporter and a DG-22 Flamed Maple bought new all the way back in 1998. I obviously never bought into the whole "All Fender Acoustics suck" garbage. My newest member to my collection The Kingman Buck Owens tribute limited edition will fit right in very nicely. All solid woods and a beautiful fit and finish with a high level of overall craftsmanship that give you a lot of bang for your buck. Throw in a decent quality HS case and a great retro vibe to the instrument that makes it a for sure keeper to my modest 13 guitar collection...Great job Fender. Thanks as always to GC for their high level of customer quality and service. Bottom line, if you dig Fenders and Fender acoustics snag up one of these while they are still available...You wont regret it.

Dear John from Napa who left a bad review- please visit the Fender website and go to downloads from this guitar for your precious paperwork. Geez. Once this thing gets acclimated and beat on a little bit, the tone is pretty awesome. Very resonant. Some minor case QC issue, but minor really. For the price point, it's kind of great. I plan on experimenting with break in techniques and then proper setup. This guitar will age quite nicely I think. Nice execution Fender. Now, please stop making them…
Surprisingly a great playing and sounding guitar. Pickup OK.

First purchased this guitar from Fender back I December, and it was a mess. Severe bow in neck, wouldn't stay in tune, and the pickup didn't work. Returned right away. Bought from GC a couple weeks ago, and a completely different instrument. Great neck angle, stays in tune, plays well out of the box, and sounds really good! Not that crazy about the pickup. Bought for the Buck Owens red white and blue. Also own a a Recording King Bakersfield, which is a 000 like Buck Owens original. The Fender blows it away. It's an all solid wood guitar. The Recording King is more of a collectable, and weak in sound quality.

I recently purchased the Buck Owens acoustic and was extremely disappointed the guitar arrived with absolutely no paper of any kind, no info at all. I contacted Fender and the response was that no information or specifications were available. Needless to say I guess they just didn't think it was worth the trouble or expense. Dose not say much about.

What is the body, fingerboard and bridge constructed constructed from? The specs at Fender indicate mahogany and rosewood, while you are indicating ovangkol?
I apologize for the confusion. Solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides Thank you for pointing that out. I will pass it on to our web team.
