Was it worth it? Oh yeah!
I own a laquered tweed HRD and recently purchased a matching HRD 1x12 extension cabinet and had to offer my opinion to any others out there who value the gear they own/use. It's pricey as combo extension speakers go but it's a great bang for the buck once broken in and U find the time to dial the settings in to maximize its potential. The closed cabinet housed with a great 80W Celestion speaker provides a much warmer, deeper tonal output than acheivable by the stand alone HRD amp. It affords the output tubes a bit more opportunity to reach that bottom end which it is capable of without "rattling the cage" too much as when driving this fine amp through the 1x12 that it comes with. Less distortion and more punchy clean low ends are possible & I love the way it looks with the HRD securely nestled atop the ext. speaker, like a mini full stack, with a powerful projection which cuts through the live mix low & hi, with clarity and definition. I am thrilled by the reward that resulted from marrying the HRD amp with the extension speaker cabinet....totally worthwhile. Thanks, Fender, Guitar Center!

Incredible, I have gone this long lugging around combos without an extension cab thinking I could get the same glorious sound out of one speaker. I had no idea how well this would allow notes to breathe, not just add bottom-end. It is paired with my Hot Rod Deluxe III FSR. Buy one.

It is a great addition to my HR Deluxe 1X12, adds low end to the open back combo making it a fuller sounding tone. I am gland I sprung for the extra cabinet but not only for the Fender but I also use it with a Soldano SLO30 mini and sounds great with that amp too. Definitely Recommend it. Thanks.

I bought this and paired it with my Orange Micro Terror and it sounds amazing. The cab has a smooth but booming sound. I would recommend getting this one. I bought mine used at GC and got a really good deal
