The Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS offers classic Strat tone with modern versatility in this limited-edition model. Built with an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck, it provides a resonant foundation for playing everything from shimmering cleans to overdriven crunch. Featuring three pickups—an Alnico 2 humbucker in the bridge and Alnico 5 single coils in the middle and neck—this Strat delivers a wide range of tones, from vintage snap to high-output growl, making it perfect for any style of music.

Modern C Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard for Comfort

The Player II Strat’s Modern C-shaped neck offers immediate comfort and familiarity, while the rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface with 22 medium-jumbo frets. Whether you're soloing or chording, the neck's comfortable profile ensures effortless playability. A synthetic bone nut and dual-wing string tree enhance tuning stability, even with heavy tremolo use or aggressive playing.

Alnico Pickups for Tonal Variety

With a 5-way selector switch, the Player II Strat HSS gives you access to a broad tonal range. The Alnico 2 humbucker in the bridge position provides midrange punch and low-end power, ideal for higher-gain genres. The Alnico 5 single coils in the middle and neck positions offer bright, articulate tones, perfect for clean sounds or detailed chord work. Master volume and tone controls allow you to dial in the perfect output and shape the high-end response.

Responsive 2-Point Tremolo System

The Player II Strat's 2-point tremolo bridge delivers smooth and responsive pitch-shifting effects. Upgraded saddles improve tuning stability, even with heavy tremolo arm use. With proper setup and fresh strings, this Stratocaster holds its tune through long performances and recording sessions, making it a reliable choice for players on stage and in the studio.

Premium Components at an Accessible Price

From the anodized aluminum pickguard to the synthetic bone nut, the Player II Strat HSS offers premium components for professional performance. Sealed tuning machines ensure greater tuning stability, while the easy-access truss rod adjustment wheel allows for quick neck relief tweaks without removing the pickguard. Offering Fender’s renowned quality at a budget-friendly price, this guitar is built for serious musicians who demand versatility and reliability.

Extremely pleased

This was discounted as an open box (blemished guitar.) Looks brand new. Only evidence that it had been opened was the plastic wrap had been peeled off the pick guard. Doesn't look like it was ever played. Required tuning, but setup is very good. Very pleasant to play and sounds great. Another reviewer was not pleased that the 70th anniversary imprint shown in the listing was not on the headstock. When I registered mine on the Fender website it said it was made in 2025. I believe 2024 was the 70th anniversary so probably why the 2025 one is missing the imprint. When registered, the Fender website confirmed that it was a Limited Edition. I also own a Schecter Omen, a Gretsch, and a Taylor. The Gretsch is the only one that required some setup work to get it playing well. I would definitely recommend this guitar and Guitar Center. The associate I spoke with on chat was very helpful.

Feels like a bait and switch

I bought this guitar based on the description of V Mod II pickups. I confirmed via chat that these were indeed these V Mod II pickups and NOT the standard Player II pickups. Now that I have received the guitar they tell me that is is the basic standard Player II pickups. Confused and disappointed.

I worked with a great Sales Rep at the New Braunfels store named Mason. He did a live demo, playing this Strat Player II. I had already done my research online, so I was already 90% confident that this would be the one. Love at first play with this Player II HSS.

This is a well made guitar. I have never seen a finish that looks like this, it's beautiful ! Like most Strats I've purchased this needed a set up. The rosewood board was gorgeous but very dry,it took several rounds of conditioner but turned out great. I did change the nut with a graph tech TUSQ an inexpensive improvement. The pickups are not Fenders best but are not bad, with the price of this being so good it would make sense to upgrade them. Mexican fenders are getting better all the time and worth the look at.

  • A big step above the older players series

I purchased in the store over a month ago I'm happy with the purchase mine needed a set up out of the box I expected it to be. I played probably 6-8 strats in this price range and this one was the most impressive . Unplugged the sustain was impressive. Mine didn't come with the limited edition oval sticker , not a big deal . It holds it tuning very well the rosewood fret board it's a nice upgrade from the past models. Bridge pickup is cool for metal type tones the neck and mid sound very nice for clean Strat tones , I'll probably upgrade pickups later not sure yet . I'm surprised it didn't come with at least a gig bag ? I ended up getting a hard case for mine .. the rolled edge fret board is a great addition as well , the satin finish on the back of the neck is silky smooth and so easy to play . Would I buy it again yes would I recommend it ? Yes .. I'm already thinking of buying another one .

If you order this, know you are not going to get the branding in the photos, I didn't. Mine neither says 70th anniversary or Special edition like in the photos.

There is no adjustment wheel. It's a hex nut at the headstock.
