New ashtray for my Tele
I bought this basically to finish off the Highway 1 I bought this year. I wasn't sure if I'd actually use it when I play but liked the look and had heard offhand that it might actually change the sound of the bridge pickup through providing additional shielding. Well, I won't be using it while I play because while it's not uncomfortable it rocks slightly when I least expect it. it seems to pivot at the point where it clamps the tailpiece. Guess that might be part of why there are more of them acting as ash trays. Hey, it looks nice when I take pictures and it hanging on the wall.

OK Item-But Be Aware
The Ashtray Bridge Cover isn't so cleanly produced (the metal on the underside of mine was scorched), and something that's Fender doesn't make evident is that this item DOES NOT fit the bridge on their American Special instruments. It does add a nice look to the Tele, and is a nice touch, otherwise (for those Teles that it fits).

Got this for my 50's Vintera Tele and it really looks great. It is 100% aesthetic for me. It fits perfectly, snapping into place easily, and also simple to take off. No sliding, tugging, pushing or pulling needed- it is effortless. I just love the look!

Not even a little bit functional, but it sure looks good. Although it obviates getting your pick hand scraped on the metal bridge edges.

it hits the pick guard and doesn't sit down all the way but a little filing and should be good

When cranking up the gain since the bridge pickup is not a humbucker it shields the AC that seems to be EVERYWHERE
works on Telecaster and ASAT with bridge "sides" or Ashtray
