How to Install a Treble Bleed Circuit | Fender Tone Saver | Fender

collapse expand iconDescription

If you experience tonal change when turning down the volume control on your guitar, the Fender Tone Saver 500K is a great solution. Unlike traditional treble bleed circuits that involve connecting tiny parts together with delicate soldering, the Tone Saver contains a special R/C network inside one convenient enclosure that will keep your guitar's tone remarkably consistent at any setting. Just solder the leads to the center and outside lugs of your guitar's volume control and you're done.

This tone saver actually works as advertised! My strat came to life and sounds amazing. My strat has CTS pots with orange drop caps and sounded great even before the mod. My guitar sounds every bit as good as an American Stratocaster with the new tone saver installed. The Fender tone saver came with easy to read instructions and illustrations. I recommend that you buy heat shrink for the leads as they are very malleable and obviously it keeps the connection safe from unwanted contact. I recommend this mod to gigging musicians as the mod is more noticeable when playing at high volume and handy when you need to cut back in the mix and not lose tone.
