The Fluid Audio DS5 desktop stand is designed for use with all 4 and 5 in. 2-way studio monitors. It comes with the ability to elevate your monitor to two heights: 2.5 and 5 in. With the included rubber feet, the stand becomes an acoustic isolation system that can adjust to 3 angles: Flat, 3 and 6 degrees of tilt.

Elevating your monitors closer to ear level means you get better on-axis response. High frequencies coming from tweeters are somewhat directional, so getting them up and closer to ear level means you hear a more full-frequency response.

Made from MDF wood (the same material as your monitor enclosures), the Fluid Audio DS5 desktop stand is rugged and acoustically well damped. The stand posts are made with polypropylene, minimizing the ringing sound of ABS plastic. Both top and bottom of the stands are capped off with extremely absorbent, 40 durometer rubber feet. The result of the stand construction allows your monitors to produce much purer tones and a less distorted midrange.

If you enjoy putting things together with lack luster hardware and not the best quality designs this item might be for you.

  • Solid stands - once you get them set up.

These are a great pair with my desk and Presonus Eris 3.5" speakers - love the difference in sound, and the angle is great for getting it just right for my height. That being said, I'm going to echo another review about difficulty setting up. It took me embarrassingly long to put them together - not because instructions weren't unclear, but because the screws are horrible. They strip easy and I have blisters from how much pressure I had to use in order to get them securely in place. If I had a different screwdriver it may have been a different story, but I was shocked by how annoying the screws were. Took me 45 minutes (including with selecting the correct angle for my setup, but still). Also, the finish on the wood chips VERY easily when setting the plastic spacers. They are solid, especially for the price - I knew I needed stands but as this is an early entrance into studio monitors I didn't want to spend too much. Just know what you're getting into.

I have a set of Fluid Audio F4s, which I love, but these stands from Fluid Audio are awful. First, they are not adjustable after assembly. The picture shows multiple configurations, but you must choose one and make it permanent. I unfortunately misread the pictures and thought the stands were adjustable after assembly. They come with short and long legs for two height settings or use a combination of the two for an angled stand. The rubber feet are plentiful, but only the medium thick feet can be used if the stand is level. The tall and short thick thick feet are both angled. Also the rubber feet are adhesive and are applied directly over the leg screws, removing the possibility of further adjustments. The legs are tight and damage the skin that covers the wood when slid on. Make sure you use a perfect fitting Phillips, because the leg screws are tiny and fragile. The only plus is they are nice looking, but should be about a third of the price for non adjustable stands. I returned these and opted for foam isolation pads instead.

  • Can't beat for the price!
