Meet the NEW Performance 3 Capo with ART

Description
The Performance 3 ART Capo from G7th is an innovative capo designed to eliminate the tuning and fretting issues that plague standard capos. Featuring patented Adaptive Radius Technology, the string pad mechanism dynamically adjusts to match the fingerboard radius of any guitar, applying even pressure across all strings for unparalleled tuning stability. The Performance 3 also has G7th's Unique Tension Control system which provides intuitive adjustment of string pressure with a simple squeeze. Whether using an acoustic, electric or hybrid guitar, guitarists can have confidence that the Performance 3 will keep their instrument in tune.
Adaptive Radius Technology Delivers Perfect Intonation
The Adaptive Radius Technology in the Performance 3 capo is a groundbreaking innovation that sets a new standard for buzz-free, in-tune capo use. The string pad mechanism dynamically adapts to match the curvature of the fingerboard over the strings at any fret position, on any guitar neck. This provides maximum tuning stability with minimum tension, eliminating the issues of improper fretting and pinched tone that are common with standard capos.
Unique Tension Control Offers Precise Adjustability
G7th's patented Unique Tension Control system gives the Performance 3 capo an easy, one-handed squeeze-on, squeeze-off action and near infinite pressure adjustment. Guitarists can simply squeeze to attach the capo with the precise tension needed and then squeeze again to release it. This intuitive design provides complete control over string pressure, allowing confidence that the guitar will stay in tune.
Versatile, User-Friendly Design
The Performance 3 capo is designed to work instantly on any 6-string steel or nylon acoustic, electric or hybrid guitar. Its user-friendly, one-handed design fits hands of any size and, with practice, can be positioned nearly as quickly as a spring-loaded capo but without the need for frequent re-tuning. When not in use, the Performance 3 stores easily behind the nut or on the headstock for quick access.
Premium Quality and Lifetime Warranty
G7th capos are known for their premium design and build quality. The Performance 3 capo is constructed from high-grade steel and plastics and comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Guitarists worldwide rely on G7th capos to keep their instruments in tune and protect their tone.

Best capo I've tried
This is the capo I hoped it would be. I can move this easily to just about any fret and it just works. My guitars stay in tune while using this capo unlike my shubb and kyser type capo's. The adaptive radius technology really does work well. That ART technology is what made me choose this over Thalia. Those capo's look great but I've read they are heavy and you need to change the pads with different guitars. With this G7th you just clamp it down and your good to go. One hand on and off all day long with this. Seems pricey but now that I own it I can justify the price for what I got. Best capo you can buy right now. IMHO

Form Belies Function - does not live up to claims
I've played guitar for over forty years and have used dozens of different capos. Each has their own niche: generally trading between ease of use and proper tension and intonation. The G7th Performance 3 is advertised as meeting both criteria, but after much testing found it lacking. The design is beautiful and operation is very straightforward. Basic attachment and removal is easy to do with one hand (there aren't even instructions included - no need). On paper, the Adaptive Radius Technology (ART for short) that should adapt to each neck doesn't really come through. Way too much pressure is needed to prevent buzzing and that must be often done with two hands. I found that 3rd and 4th strings regularly buzzed unless extra effort was used to clamp. The extra pressure then leads to intonation issues, which nullifies any advantages of the ART. To Guitar Center's credit, I was allowed to test another G7th capo in-store on the possibility (however unlikely) that mine was defective. However, I noticed no difference. For a capo that retails for over $60, this was very disappointing. I ended up returning it.

The reviews on this capo made me think it was excellent and the best ever. I find it takes a bit to get it adjusted right but once it is works well. I can see this being an issue playing live. Maybe operator error though..
Didn't work on my Taylor acoustics - fret buzz

I tried this on my Taylor DN3 (dreadnought with Elixer POLY 10 strings) and GS Mini-e (with Elixer NANO 12 strings) and immediately decided to return it. It just didn't work at all. It didn't seem to hold the strings tightly enough so there was a lot of fret buzz and general out-of-tune-ness. Maybe it works better on other guitars or string gauges, which would explain why it has some good reviews here. I had been bought this in my search for a good adjustable capo. The person who helped me with the return at GC suggested the D'Addario NS Reflex Capo. I bought that for a third of the current price of this one and it's easily the best capo I've ever owned.

This is the most 'in tune' capo I have found for playing live and not having to retune! Saves time and focus while on stage.

I've been aware of this capo for a while, but avoided buying one and went with a cheaper option instead because I didn't think a capo should cost this much. I got a new guitar and the cheap capo threw it way sharp when I would use it. Makes it difficult when you have limited time between songs when adding and removing the capo. Well, I finally caved and bought one and hooray! I'm still in tune when I put it on. It's easy to put on and remove and it feels like a quality product. We'll see how long is lasts. Very satisfied so far though. #sweepstakes

I like the look of this capo, however, if you don't push down on it hard and evenly, then it will cause some of your strings to buzz. The other capos with spring action are better than this one. Which is weird when this one cost so much money.

Will this capo work on a 12 string Mtichell Guitar?
Yes, the standard Performance 3 will fit and clamp onto your 12-string Mitchell, but it's not optimized for perfect tuning across all strings. For best results, consider getting the 12-String specific model (Heritage or Newport), or ordering a replacement compensated pad for the Performance 3.submitted3 years ago
