Great Sounding Flats, But Pretty Long

They are long, however. At 38" long wound, the E string will wrap around the post if on a Fender-style instrument with a top-loading vintage bridge. It doesn't affect functionality, but I don't like having the fat part of the string wound around the string post. Still 5 stars because I know where to use and where not to use. I use these on a Lakland USA 44-64 with through-body stringing and they work great! I suspect they would also work great on a Rickenbacker 4001/4003 if trying to get the vintage '60s sound, but I haven't tried it yet.

Poor quality

I've had a set of ghs flea boomers on my ibanez for 5 years and they still play fine. These precision flats only lasted about a week before they started unraveling at the headstock. Great tone, poor quality.

Great tone and playability. Easier on the fingers than round wound stock issue on p-bass. Wonderful strings!!

I only use flatwounds on one of my basses to use when I want that classic flatwound tone. These strings deliver that tone 100%. I have been very happy with them, sounded great as soon as I put them on and now two months later they sound even better.

  • Best flats for the money!!

Cheaper than most other brands, and great sounding strings!! Very good winding -no gaps-, and well polished strings...
