I mean I assume it's fine. The rod is made of metal and not like petrified pasta or something. Havent actually got to try it yet as the stand I ordered it for is in Leavenworth KS and I'm not.

Would this item be able to bolt a keyboard to a Yamaha Z stand?

No. This is a replacement for a truss stand. It may work for the nut that holds the adjustable portion of the stand, but not to hold a keyboard to the stand.

Do you know if this will fit a Carvin speaker stand. Mine takes a #6 Allen wrench on the head, which was exposed when the plastic handle broke off.

The threading is different. The only way I would know of to get that replacement part is to go through Carvin themselves.
