The GrooveTech GTGTR1 and GTBAS1 Tech Kits are the ultimate tool kits for guitar and bass players. But musicians who want something more portable may now consider the new Stagehand kit. It provides comparable capability, yet in a compact package and budget-priced. Central to the Stagehand is a 19-piece magnetic bit set and screwdriver-style bit holder. The set includes hex wrenches, screwdrivers, and sockets in both inch and metric sizes cover virtually all makes and models of guitars and basses.

This approach provides a wide range of capability including bridge, truss rod, tremolo system, and jack nut adjustment while consuming little space. A capo and precision 15-blade thickness gauge permit neck relief measurement, which is a precursor to proper adjustment. Also included is a downsized version of the popular GrooveTech String Cutters and string winder. Like all CruzTOOLS products, components are professional grade and won't let you down when you need them the most.

The product will be used to setup my guitars that I use on stage and instruments I purchase for my grandchildren.

  • This is good for most of the basic needs.

If it wasn't for the feeler gauge, I probably wouldn't have purchased this set. It would help if you have no other tool sets, but again, I only purchased it for this brand feeler gauge. Nevertheless, I'm still giving it a five star rating.

I was looking for a portable kit to carry and use on site. This kit is lacking in some essential tools and the truss rod hex bits don't seem to correspond to any hex nut I have seen used in guitars. Also feeler gauges not real specific on mm. Easy enough to convert but I prefer to measure in metric. It's just easier.
