  • Nice design, and has a lot of promise, but ...

PROS: Like the foldability and the breathing holes that prevent music from "parachuting". CONS: the music-holding part of the stand is prone to warping with only moderate pressure applied during storage, and worse: the double-clamps that seem like they should solidly hold the stand up when 1 lb of music is on it (a) slip a lot, and (b) are made of plastic, so if you tighten them too much (and I'm not /that/ strong), the plastic clamp basically disintegrates So - mine wasn't useful for long.

Stand assembly was quick and rather easy. I really like the way it is constructed. Height adjustment allows for practicing new songs on my Strat sitting down or standing up. So far, I like it.

  • I WILL buy it again!

Although lightweight apparently there is a lighter model. Kinda wish the sales person would have told me about it as I'm returning this one for that one. Solid stand though.

  • I really like the music stand because it is light in weight.

As we travel we must provide our own music stand. This stand where the music rest is sturdy. It also has room for a notebook of songs.

What is the backplate made of? Are the edges sharp or rolled/rounded? How low can the stand be set--from floor to bottom of backplate? What is the weight? Concern is to avoid risk of harm should stand tip over and fall on young child. Thanks very much.

It is made out of a light metal (I believe aluminum) with rounded edges around the top and sides, but not the actual shelf where the music rests. It is 8.2lbs.
