I'm giving this 4 Stars because I think this is a good product for the right user but it didn't work out for me. I believe it's made to the same level of quality as most things "nowadays", but comparing it to my Gibraltar multi-position hi-hat stand from a few years ago (remember them?), this snare stand is generally below it in overall quality. For example, the hi-hat multi-position ball ("MPB") was made with superior quality; 2 adjustment spots and shiny chrome, and I expected that here, but the MPB on this stand looks to be made from "pot metal" and although you don't see it...meh. But again, I know it is a great feature and that was 1 reason why I bought it and would still recommend this. I'll add that I wanted this to work for me, but I have to be honest: The chrome finish looks like it's been "handled" and is certainly not pristine! The MPB works OK, but the "key" is a pain to work around and is huge. The major complaint I have is that I must open it TO THE MAX to accept my 14" 10-lug Ludwig Classic Maple snare drum! Not only does it have to be maxxed, but I cannot get the snare stand bed to come in contact with the rim at all 3 points! I prefer to catch "flat" spots on the rim, but the arms are spaced in a way that they contact at least 1 lug, no matter how I turn the drum. In general, it's too bad that most mfr's descriptions do not advise the dimension of (any) stands. I needed a tall stand, and this was only about 24" with a secure, flat base (an online video review said 34", but not even close). The flat base can be raised a few inches into more of a tripod which I did, and I raised the tube almost 100% to get to 24" at the basket, but the tubing is thin ("lightweight"), and frankly my 6-1/2" snare was too top heavy and rocked (not the way you want). Just too many strikes against this for me to keep it (look for an "open box" sale!) This would be good for a rack tom (it's VERY position-able) or as a lower height, lightweight 8-lug snare stand

I mainly use this as my main snare stand when playing out. Very arable and I love how I can set the snare at virtually any angle.

I have used many standard tripod snare stands, but acquired this one for looks and fit at the throne after seeing one in use at a festival. As snare stands go, it's affordable, built as well as my Pearl stand, and the flat base has cured me of worry that my snare might fall over. The flat base also seems to cause me less congestion at the throne. It has secure, easy to use adjustments and should last forever, if free from abuse. Consider this one next time you need a stand; it's quite nice.
