For anyone shopping for an upgrade to a cheap drum throne, yes, this is way way way more sturdy, comfortable, and supportive than any cheap throne you got with a kit or from a friend. For anyone shopping for an inexpensive throne to gig with, yes, this is a comfortable and supportive throne, although it is decently heavy and bulky. Having sat on thrones from cheap pack ins to top of the line DWs and Roc-n-Socs, I'd say this throne is about 80-90% as comfortable as those thrones that cost 2 or 2.5x as much money. It's up to you whether that last little bit of comfort and support are worth the added expense. Dollar for dollar, I'm convinced that this is the best drum throne on the market. It is MORE than acceptable. It's fantastic. There are a few better ones, but there are also countless that are far, far worse. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a throne under $200 and absolutely to anyone looking for a throne less than $150.

The seat cushion is very plush and comfortable and the range of adjustment for the height should exceed anything needed by anyone. Very high quality and will work well for what I need.
