I bought this to work with the Gibraltar platform mount pole that connects to the bass drum. These do a good job of keeping the toms where they should be.

  • Excellent piece of hardware.

I needed another ball-arm mount for a third tom on my PDP rack system. I had previously purchased two of the Gibraltar mounts to hold 13" and 10" oak, rack toms. Easy to set desired positions. No slippage once set, and my toms are 13-ply oak, i.e., heavy.

  • Great rack tom holder!

These rack tom holders are excellent. Well-made, sturdy, and competitively priced. I have a DW oak kit. The toms are 11 plies of oak and very heavy as rack toms go. There is no slippage or movement.

  • Dependable

Using two of these with the Pearl multiclamp. Set-and-forget. As good as any I've tried.

  • Perfect fit, with a slight modification :-)

I purchased this Gibraltar Ball Arm L-Rod Mount to use on my Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz kit, for the purpose of adding a 10" Tom. The Catalina Club kit's tom mount has a 7/8" spot, typically to hold a cymbal. This Gibraltar Ball Arm L-Rod Mount's post was a little to long, so I actually used a hacksaw to cut off about half of the post. Doing this gave me more flexibility in positioning the toms on the kick. The L-Rod is solid, and holds my new 10" tom perfectly, and allowed for precision configuration.
