I play Dbl Bass but sometimes have to use a Dbl Bass Pedal instead. I purchased the DW 3000 2 leg HH stand but it would not go low enough for me, you cannot fold up the pedal and it is 2 lbs heavier. I saw this Lighting Rod stand and thought why not. The DBL braced Tri-pod legs rotate, the Pedal folds up,the HH Cymbal and Rod Height go low enough for me to use. The only thing I do not like is no tension adjustment. I use Paiste 2002 / 14" HH / from 1983. The up and down action for me is just a little sluggish. By the end of the night I had it figured out and adjusted my foot and Tilt accordingly. If you were to use any Heavier HH cymbals I don't think you would like the action. That is why I gave it 4 Stars.
