The Gibraltar tom drum arm is crafted with a 7/8" diameter post topped with a 5/16" (9.5 mm) L-rod for mounting cowbells and other percussion implements. The arm's L-rod also fits some tom mounts and electronic drums.

    I bought this item to hold an popcorn snare (a pdp blackout snare 6x10). Kind of a heavy load but it seems to be holding it steady. So if you are using it to hold a large cowbell it will hold on to it, by the way I have a lg. cowbell which I tried on it and it will hold it just fine. Or if you want to use your five piece kit as a four piece jazz kit use it to hold your tom tom.
