    This bracket fit 1963 Ludwig side tom without alteration to side tom. Based on published bracket 2" center to center mounting screw distance, I expected to have to modify my drum which has 1 7/8" center to center mounting hole distance. Pleasant surprise. This solved the following problems that existed from the time the side tom was new: 1) Tom vibrating loose from the L-rod it's clamped to and ending up rotating down into my snare drum. 2) Gouges in L-rod due to single point wing screw digging into rod to try to hold the drum in one place. This bracket clamps all around the L-rod to keep the drum from vibrating loose.

    Do i gotta drill the holes on my tom if it doesn't have the holes for this mount?

    If it doesn't have the holes for the mount it will have to be drilled, It is recommended to have this done professionally to prevent damage to the drum.
