Gibraltar Back Rest Attachment

The back rest turned out to be just what I needed. Because I was not attaching it to a round drum stool post I had to make shift a bracket to fit my application but it all worked out great. It's very sturdy and comfortable. As things turned out it's perfect and everything that I hoped it would be. I really recommend this product and we all know how great The Guitar Center is.

sturdy but might have to modify!

first off, the product is easy to set up and sturdy. keep i mind there is limited front and back adjustment, which means if you sit more toward the edge of you throne, then the backrest will not likely support your back. the "L" support bottoms out by hitting the mounting bolts and you loose about 1/8" of forward adjustment. i had to purchase 2 spacers to move to upper part of the backrest to get it even close to my back. if you purchase this to support your back while playing, then you will likely have to modify it; if you just want something to lean against once in while, then i will probably be satisfactory.

This backrest has saved my back when playing for a three hour gig. It'll go on any throne.

I've been drumming 50+ years, and had a Gibraltar throne. It was stolen. I've been using a cheap throne, and a friend had saw the add, and thought it was as pictured. Ouite a let down. If its not a Gibralter Throne, it will likely not handle the stress. Mine lasted about 7 seconds when someone else sat on it. Back rest is OK, but stool way too light for it.

Mounting Mechanism: The Gibraltar GUBR clamps onto the 7/8" (22.2mm) diameter post of a standard drum throne. rattleanddrum.com +5 drumshop.co.uk +5 gibraltarhardware.com +5 Pork Pie Thrones: Most Pork Pie round thrones utilize a standard spindle post, which is typically compatible with the GUBR's clamping mechanism. Hydraulic Thrones: The GUBR is not compatible with hydraulic or pneumatic thrones. If your Pork Pie throne uses a hydraulic mechanism, this backrest will not fit. Seat Mounting: The GUBR attaches to the throne's post, not directly to the seat. Ensure that your throne's post is accessible and free of obstructions for proper installation. If you prefer a backrest designed specifically for Pork Pie thrones, consider the Pork Pie Throne Backrest. This backrest is tailored to fit Pork Pie thrones and offers 2" of adjustable lumbar support. The Gibraltar GUBR backrest can be a suitable addition to your Pork Pie round drum throne, provided it's not a hydraulic model and the post diameter matches the backrest's clamping requirements. For a seamless fit, especially if your throne is pre-drilled for a backrest, the Pork Pie Throne Backrest may be the more straightforward choice.
