Gibson

collapse expand iconDescription

The Gibson Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 Western guitar is the signature acoustic-electric of the American singer-songwriter. Rateliff's music, both solo and with the Night Sweats, incorporates a uniquely appealing blend of folk, soul, Americana and R&B. This Gibson LG-2 Western is a blend of Rateliff's own vintage Gibson LG-2 and Country Western, with a smaller-sized mahogany body and red spruce top deliver vintage-approved tone. A mahogany neck features split parallelogram inlays, and the headstock is crowned with a mother-of-pearl Gibson block logo and Crown inlay, a nod to the Country Western. Volume and tone controls of the onboard L.R. Baggs VTC electronics are mounted at the bottom of the soundhole, per hiss preferences; the L.R. Baggs pickup makes the Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 Western stage-ready, right out of the included hardshell case.

If you want a smaller guitar that sounds great and has a strong voice, this is it. I have played dozens of Martins and quite a few Gibsons so I know what I like. This LG2 Western feels like a custom guitar. I had a warranty issue and Gibson made it right. Stuff happens. It ain't the guitars fault.

Best acoustic by far I've played in 28 years, everything about it is amazing. Lucky to have found one since Gibson Customer Service verbally told me not expected to make any more since its a Limited Edition. The wood used on this guitar and the thick depth on the LG2 WESTERN gives it an amazing acoustic tone. Wow!

  • This is not the guitar I originally wanted.

Not the guitar I originally wanted but very quickly became the only guitar I wanted. Way more attractive in real life, plays like no other, sounds amazing and is very comfortable due to the size. Comes ready to play, setup straight from Gibson. The L.R. that it comes with is perfect for the sound. Rateliff and Gibson, you absolutely killed this.
