These are really the only strings you can safely use on Gold Tone's Weissenborn Guitar, and have different gauges and tensions than anything else on the market. I don't know if they do well on other brands of Weissenborn Guitar, but Gold Tone's model is a special design that has specific tension requirements, which is how they managed to deliver a top-end instrument for well under $1000 without cutting corners. What surprised me the most, is that I don't get any squeaks when using these strings. Given that they are Phosphor Bronze, I didn't expect this. I use semi-flats on my Resonator Guitars, and sometimes full flatwounds. They feel great; not too resistant but not too slick, which is perfect for having confidence on a Lap Steel Guitar. The tone and timbre are very well balanced and the Lap Steel sounds warm but not bright, very articulate as well. These strings do just as well finger-style as with finger and thumb picks. They don't seem to get worn down by the Tone Bar either. Made in the USA and yet very affordable; specialty strings usually carry a premium price tag. I'm ordering two sets just in case they get discontinued!
