I'm a little sad that, as I write this, the item is out of stock. I have an older model of this cowbell, from when the Gon Bops name and product line was owned by DW. I've had this workhorse cowbell for 8 years, and have to replace it, as after 8 years of rock and roll bashing, it's cracked. This cowbell is the perfect rock cowbell tonally. Playing primarily covers, I needed a loud, clear, deep cowbell sound...this one delivers! From the classic opening riff of "We're An American Band," to the 80's pop sensible chorus to Def Leppard's "Foolin'" this bell recreates those familiar tones perfectly. Now, to the innovation: the mount! Most cowbells have a typically weak thumbscrew to attach the bell onto an accessory bar of some kind...not Gon Bops! The patented Gon Bops V-Grip mounting system is stable and solid! My only gripe is that the bass drum hoop clamp that came with the DW version is gone forever...but, for me, no worry-I still have mine! The V-Grip is a thumb screw combined with a drumkey-tightenable screw (think tensioners), that locks the bell solidly into place on whatever bar/post you want to mount it on. If this was TL;DR, here's the Reader's Digest version: If you want a durable, solid, classic-rock-sounding cowbell, don't think twice--buy this!
