I've tried many drums from Guitar Center (maybe 10-15) This is my 1st choice. The drum has dry low end thud that cuts through the mix in a recording. With the alloy tone coming through on the top but not harsh and not a high end crack. I use a gell on it to bring down the over tones. Great drum for recording. It is heavy 17lbs so not something you want to drag around to gigs.
