Gretsch Guitars

collapse expand iconDescription

The Gretsch G2217 Streamliner Junior Jet Club BT electric guitar is a stripped-down workhorse that’s built to take a beating. With aggressive attack and quick response, the sleek Junior Jet Club is designed for the down-and-dirty guitarist who demands no-nonsense tone.

Powered by Broad’Tron humbucking pickups, the Streamliner Junior Jet Club delivers robust lows, and a throaty midrange that is harnessed and shaped by a master tone control, master volume control and 3-way pickup switching. A fast-playing 12"-radius laurel fingerboard with elegant pearloid Neo-Classic inlays and 22 medium-jumbo frets sits atop the bolt-on nato neck with a thin U-shaped profile—ideal for chord work or fiery riffing. Additional appointments to the G2217 include an anchored compensated wrap-around bridge, synthetic bone nut, bound neck, vintage-style control knobs, tortoise pickguard and nickel hardware.

Really well made guitar!

This is my fourth Gretsch, and this one stays true to its name; quality build and great value. In this price range, it's truly a nice instrument...but it's not perfect. The PROS: The neck and frets are great! The neck feel and playability is superb. No sharp fret ends, and they're all really level. The stock tuners needed to be tightened a bit, but now they're surprisingly stable! The nut was cut perfectly on mine. Lastly, the look of this guitar is awesome! The finish (cherry) is really nice. I swapped the knobs out with cream colored knobs to match the pickup rings, and it pops! The CONS: IMO, the bridge is a bit flimsy, so I swapped it out with an adjustable intonation style bridge (the stock bridge is fixed intonation). The intonation is now perfect, and the bridge is much more stable. Secondly, the pickups really need upgrading. They lack brilliance, punch and clarity. The other Gretsch's I bought in this line have pickups that are at least usable in their tone and character...these don't. That said, this guitar is still a great buy! Overall, I would certainly recommend this guitar!

This guitar is surprisingly really sweet for the price. They sound and feel amazing. Add some lock tuners and you'll have the best budget guitar money can buy right now.

Once you adjust your amp knobs to take in the deep mid and low tones - that coupled with the twangy high tones - will have you in guitar heaven. Stop traffic looks. Easy to handle and play. Great with any style of music. It's as solid as a Redwood Tree

  • Quality instrument with great sound

I'm a novice player just transitioning out of the gear-overaccumulation phase and into the diligent practice phase. This was my first of 5 electric guitars acquired starting about 6 months ago. I still enjoy and play this one regularly. It feels and sounds great - I play it most often through an Orange 12 amp and the two really get along. Intonation is a bit fiddly but you can get it there.
