collapse expand iconDescription

Gretsch is proud to offer the G5237 Electromatic Double Jet FT, a chambered double-cutaway guitar that roars with authentic Gretsch tone and style. Its chambered mahogany body resonates with full, balanced tone across the tonal spectrum, providing a strong foundation for the included Black Top Filter'Tron pickups. These high-output pickups pump out the quintessential punch and clarity Gretsch is known for, allowing this Double Jet to cut through at any volume.

Chambered Mahogany Body Produces Loud, Clear Tone

The G5237 Electromatic Double Jet FT's chambered mahogany body enhances resonance for robust lows, rich mids and smooth highs. Its arched maple top further focuses the tone, resulting in a balanced acoustic voice that provides an ideal platform for the included pickups.

Black Top Filter'Tron Pickups Deliver Quintessential Gretsch Power

The G5237 Electromatic Double Jet FT's Black Top Filter'Tron pickups take full advantage of the chambered mahogany body to produce wide, transparent tone with all the punch and clarity Gretsch is known for. These high-output pickups allow this Double Jet to cut through whether playing clean, crunchy or fully cranked.

Individual Volume Controls Provide Total Tonal Control

The G5237 Electromatic Double Jet FT provides a level of tonal control rarely seen in guitars at this price point. Individual volume controls for each pickup allow you to blend the pickups to your taste, while a master tone control lets you dial in just the right amount of treble. A treble bleed circuit ensures your tone stays bright even when rolling back the master volume.

Perfect out of the box w stock strings. Great feel along the Neck/fretboard and the action is good! Frets are smooth; pick ups/pots/selectors allow for a great range of Sonic tonality! Lush/warm Gretsch sounds; gets punchy w treble bleed. Neck dive when standing; use leather strap.

I ordered this Gretsch on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and it was deliverer the following Saturday (impressive!). I don't have enough discipline to wait the obligatory 24hrs and unboxed it after about 8 hrs. Tuned it up and it was already intonated almost perfectly! I mean, it really seemed like the guitar was set up and detuned for travel. Now to the sound! It t has that Gretsch sound! At least to my ears. Sounds great clean, overdriven and with fuzz! Responds well to picking dynamics! And have I mentioned it's freaking beautiful! Went over it as carefully as I could and it appears to be pretty much flawless. Bottom line, this is a lot of guitar for the asking price. It's an amazing deal at this current sale price! If f you're on the fence, just do it! You won't be disappointed!

A friend helped me go through la ot guitars at GC. She did an interview after each one, asking me what I liked or didn't about each. The Double Jet ended up on top. I took it up to the counter because I didn't want to let this one get away and took the hit to my credit card. The guitar feels like an extension of my body. Last weekend, I put a Bigsby B3 on it. It added a whole new layer of feel to the guitar. Now it feels like an extension of my soul

I am (primarily) a bass player. I do enjoy (occasionally) butchering things on guitar. A couple of months ago, one of these appeared in my local Guitar Center and I was IMMEDIATELY attracted to it because of the color and the white Pearloid. It reminded me of a '57 Chevy. However, I was in the middle of a "gear purge" and buying something brand-spanking new was NOT on my bingo card. Every so often, I would check to see what was new and this Gretsch was still there. A few weeks post-purge, I was missing the Squier Telecaster that I had shed. I did not know if Gretsches were good at the Twang so I decided to give the G5237 a try. Wow! was I impressed. This thing has all the twang I was looking for. It is well-made and absolutely beautiful.

Is there enough room to cut out a spot for a Gibson humbucker between the two existing pickups? I'm trying to get as close to the early Malcolm Young sound as I can as cheap as I can.
