Gretsch Guitars

collapse expand iconDescription

Gretsch pays homage to the late Malcolm Young with this replica of his iconic, road-battered, much-customized Gretsch Jet. This guitar, nicknamed "The Beast" was seriously personalized and was instrumental in creating some of rock and roll's most memorable and instantly recognizable rhythm guitar parts.

This models features the essential hallmarks of one of rock’s most iconic instruments including “DIY” pickup routes with simulated screw holes, chrome switch plugs, Space- Control™ bridge and ‘60s-style tailpiece. Open-cavity thunder roars from the thin-skin satin finished chambered mahogany body and is magnified by a high-output TV Jones® Power’Tron™ pickup.

Its a great guitar, very resonant! The filter Tron is perfectly voiced for rhythm guitar crunch, but still has great cleans. Great for leads as well, easy to play nice satin neck. to get that Malcolm tone crank the volume all the way up, but leave the gain at 8 or 9 o'clock. i would buy it again, they really nailed this reproduction!

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8.5 – 9.0 lbs

Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what the blemish is. However, it would only be a minor cosmetic flaw and would not effect the guitars play ability.
