The miracle of volume – now amplified. Whether you play chunk rhythm, fingerstyle, bottleneck or anything else, the all-mahogany G9241 Alligator Biscuit Roundneck resonator guitar with deluxe appointments projects its distinctively swampy tone all the way to the back door of any dancehall.

Now featuring the Fishman Nashville Biscuit-Style pickup, you’ll have the power of amplification behind your sound. Like all fine Gretsch resonator guitars, the vital feature of the G9241 is the Gretsch "Ampli- Sonic" diaphragm (resonator cone). Handspun in Eastern Europe from nearly 99-percent pure aluminum, the Ampli-Sonic diaphragm yields an impressive quality and volume of tone. Case sold separately.

The jack nut inside the guitar was loose and rolled around with the wire running through it. Very annoying and impossible to ignore. I played it some before returning it. The fit, finish & playability was decent for an inexpensive reso. I did not take the time to dial in the plugged-in tone with any of my amps and pedals. The pickup did work, despite the incomplete installation. I considered taking it apart and fixing it myself but I had concerns about other quality control issues that might pop up and I might void the return and refund if I damaged it. Returning it promptly was the answer. I realize that new guitars often need a bit of tweaking and setup, but this was clearly a production screw-up. It's puzzling how a guitar could filter through numerous hands here and there and not be flagged for such a rattle. If this guitar was not defective, it would have remained in my stable. That said, I'm reluctant to buy another. Might just have to spring for a more expensive reso.

  • Great instrument, disappointing shipping/condition

The resonator itself is great. It has very good tone and action. It holds tuning well. Very playable both in fingerstyle and with slide

  • I would buy this again

I played a resonator guitar on my way to Memphis in May last year and ever since I wanted to get one. I am very glad I purchased this one. The sound is great, the feel is great, and the quality of wood is good. Please pick one up
