I got some advice from a friend on how to make my Marshall TSL100 sound like a Marshall should, after I told him that my purchase of a used TSL100 was very disappointing because of the sound he recommended changing the original Marshall preamp tubes for the GT ECC83-s Gold Series tubes. Wow! The clean channel just sounds about as sweet and smooth as any amp I've ever owned, The other two channels "lead" and "crunch" are just as tight and punchy as one could ever hope for! Every note is heard distinctly the highs are awesome and the bottom end is very solid! I followed this up with a matched set (4) of Winged C's (EL34) in the power section and I am loving every minute of it!
Worth the buck!

I use to use a different type of preamp tubes for my Marshall MF350 but I gave these a try since my local Guitar Center didn't have the ones I usually use. They were a little bit more pricey but I really needed them. When I placed them in the amp and turned it on what a difference! The great sound I get is worth those extra bucks! Best tubes I have used by far! Whenever I go in for some new tubes I ask for these now. If you aren't using these then do yourself a favor and pick up a set of these next time you need some new preamp tubes!
a solid choice

If you want higher gain but with solid low end this tube does it in spades. Awesome tone, great character. It's gain is smoother than russian or chinese made. this is a JJ/Tesla and I simply can't use anything else.
good solid tubes...

I have a Egnater Tourmaster 4212. The preamp tubes were in need of replacement. I was going to order the tubes straight from Egnater since they tweak the tubes for thier amps. But I thought maybe these might be ok. Turns out I like these better than the stock Tubes. They seem warmer and a bit cruncher. I highly recommend them. And get the Gold ones. The Silver ones don't last.
