Hagstrom

collapse expand iconDescription

A slender, compact body joined to an ultra-slim neck profiled in a easy “D” shape is combined with the rich and powerful sound of Hagstrom’s Custom 62 pickups. The tone is truly “ultra-licious”, both in humbucking mode and in coil-split mode for single-coil sounds. The Ultra Swede is everything that makes a Hagstrom special combined together in a platform for the 21st century.
The Power and the Glory

Hagstrom’s Custom Ceramic 62 pickups shine in both humbucker and in single-coil mode. A tight and raucous humbucker attack is complemented by a lush and airy single-coil tone when the pickup coils are split.
Ultrathin Neck

Vintage Hagstrom necks were known as the “fastest in the world” and the Ultra Swede easily lives up to this legacy. Its H-Expander™ truss rod, Resinator™ fingerboard, and slim “D” profile provide an ultra-comfortable playing surface that can handle the lowest action settings. Pull the trigger and let those fingers fly.

I played back and forth between this & my Gibson SG and the Hagstrom was the winner. It has a fuller sound and better tone, I love it! I will be using this for my gigs as my primary guitar with The Hallelujah Blues Band.

I have had mine a little over a year now, the only problem I have is a few little ones, I had to replace my strap buttons the Hagstrom have really cool looking buttons it's just that it's really hard to put your strap on the guitar also the screws just aren't long enough so I just bought replacements with longer screws problem solved, as one person who left a review I to needed to replace the pots it's a easy fix and it dosen't cost much, aside from that this guitar rocks I have put it in my rotation, it looks great, it sounds awesome, the neck is very fast, it's a very beautiful guitar you really have to see it in your hands to appreciate how this guitar shines the pictures dont do it any justice, I would highly recommend this guitar and at the price you cant go wrong

Too bad they're no longer Swedish...but they still play like no other. I've played many Chinese guitars and these outperform almost all but the Epiphones. For the price you can do no better. I own 4 different Hagstrom models and use them on stage and for serious practice. Typically the electronics on Asian imports need replacing almost immediately but these are fine and the coil tap feature is a true bonus. Fret work has always been fine. The finish is high quality similar to USA Gibson/Fender. The Super Swede is quite a bit heavier but provides a beefier sound quality. In this price range you absolutely can't go wrong.

I was not expecting that much from a $400.00 guitar but since I sold my PRS Custom 24 I needed a replacement so in order this one to add to my collection. I researched all guitars in the $300 to $500.00 range and I was excited to learn of Hagstrom, I never even heard of this maker before, so I took a chance and ordered it. I must say that all the other reviews were spot on, the neck is thin the tuning keys are way different, kind of retro looking and the pickups are really hot and sound great, the fret work is as good as PRS and overall I really enjoy the size, sound and quality of this guitar. I did my own set up, straighten out the neck a little and tweeked the intonation on the strings and now it sounds and plays great. The case is just as good, nice looking and solid.

This guitar is my first Hagstrom and honestly, I think it could probably beat a Gibson in quality. I have had no problems with it, love the sound and tonalilty, just beautiful. However the only thing wrong is recently, Im having a grounding issue with one of my pots I believe. I've had it over a year now, so getting new pots (they're like $5) is not a setback. Great guitar for anyone.

Been playing Hagstrom for 20 years and the new ones are just as good as the old ones, necks smooth and fast and slim, cant be beat, pickups play clean to Black Sabbath distorted ands sound good doing it. Cant go wrong with a Hagstrom.
