I've been playing guitar for close to 23 years(never once took a lesson), mainly rhythm, and never really could get motivated into learning lead. Looking for a new start after several years not playing I bought this book hoping to improve my ability, and have more fun! I can say that just after the first few exercises I already have a better understanding of the fretboard overall and how to begin piecing together licks. The method is very easy to understand without having to be a music theory master and covers many styles of lead guitar. I would recommend to anyone from beginners to more seasoned players looking to learn some new tricks.
