99% of the lesson books have little to no diversity in the songs CHOSEN for the lessons. You know the Rock and Roll. The Metal and POp. MAYBE Muddy or B.B. two bars or so. Im sure there is a whole song or two. Next to no lessons with music written sang by people of color. "Amazing Grace" Is taught nothing like my culture sings it. "Silent Night by the Temptation" Something. It discourages people of color from having fun while learning. Learning songs I dont know like or listen to hoping one day to learn enough to play my SONG in a lesson plan. So Hal Leonard put the book together I love it. Just one problem. NO LESSONS. TO LEARN TO PLAY THE SONG NO OnLINE AUDIO. SO I STARE ILLITERATE IN LOVE WITH THE BOOK. I like everone of the songs in this book. I WILL PLAY ONE OR TWO ON MY GUITAR I AM WILLING AND ABLE TO TEACH MYSELF TO READ AND WRITE AND PLAY THIS UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE "Music"

In 1965, if you wanted to send a fan letter to your favorite singer at your favorite record company, you might have addressed the envelope to Hitsville, U.S.A. It probably would have landed correctly at Motown headquarters in Detroit ?. That title, adorning an unimposing frame house on Grand Boulevard that served as Motown's headquarters, was not an idle boast ?. By the mid-1960s, the company was a true music industry colossus, an instantly recognizable brand name responsible for some of the most successful-and most memorable-pop music of that or any other era ?. As song after song by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Marvelettes, Mary Wells, Martha and The Vandellas, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, and others shot up the charts, Motown cemented its reputation as the purveyor of exciting, impeccably crafted, expertly executed pop-soul music-songs that left an indelible mark on audiences around the world ?.
