collapse expand iconDescription

The Harbinger MLS900 Personal Line Array gives a musician on the go the perfect balance of compact mobility, big sound and versatile connectivity—including 8 inputs, Bluetooth audio, superior tuning and innovative Smart Stereo capability. Small enough to carry along with a guitar and gear bag, its sound is big enough to fill the whole venue.

MLS900 with 2 mic inputs and 3 channels

Versatile Inputs

Three independent channels and up to 8 simultaneous inputs mean you can connect two microphones or guitars along with stereo keyboard/electronics, plus use a stereo AUX in, and stereo Bluetooth audio—all at once. With this much capability, you can gig without a mixer, but still connect all your gear—and play break music via Bluetooth.

MLS900 with carry bag

Superior Tuning

Larger column speakers have a superior tuning for warm, solid mids and articulate, detailed highs, while the sub kicks out bigger bass than similar line arrays. Wide room coverage extends almost 180 degrees to reach your entire audience. From intimate vocals to full-bodied guitars to bass pounding electronics, this system delivers.

Easy to Carry

You get this big speaker sound and versatile capability at the same time as small system mobility. The base is a comfortable one-hand carry (under 30 pounds), and columns travel hands-free in an included across-the-body shoulder bag. So, your other hand is free for your guitar, keyboard or gear bag when you’re loading in for gigs.

MLS900 units connected in stereo

Smart Stereo

For even bigger sound, get a pair of MLS900s and enjoy Smart Stereo routing, with easy volume and tone control for the whole rig from the master unit. Connect all your inputs to the first unit, and it smartly routes left and right to the separate speakers, while putting mono signals right in the center of your mix. Do all the volume and tone control from the first unit, for the full wide stereo rig.

MLS900 column connection

Rugged Roadworthy Design

Columns mount with an exclusive spring-loaded ball-bearing mechanism that easily slides, and positively clicks into place. Column fronts are steel instead of plastic, and base cabinet protects knobs and connections in recessed areas. A padded shoulder bag protects columns while making them easy to carry over the shoulder.

MLS900 sound dispersion

Wide, Full-Room Coverage

The custom column speakers are arranged to create 2 outward-angled arcs of sound, directing balanced and consistent audio throughout a venue. This arrangement also lets the speaker simultaneously serve as both the house sound system, and the performer’s on-stage monitor. So, you don’t have to bring extra speakers to ensure you and your audience both hear clearly.

MLS900 vs. TurboSound ip500

I was skeptical about the Harbinger brand. You think that, because it's the "house" brand, it's for customers who can't afford name brands. But, my friend was gigging with a pair of Harbinger V2312 speakers. I was impressed! I was looking for a compact line array system for my small venue and ceremony gigs (50 - 75 ppl). Something that I could carry into the venue without the need of a cart. Just me, my guitar, mic stand / mic, and speaker. I reduced my list down to the MLS900 and the TurboSound ip500 (both about the same price). Although the ip500 sounded better with recorded music, it seemed to be missing some of the mids. It, also, didn't sound as good with live music. The MLS900 sounded amazing for both recorded and live music. It provided a well-balanced spectrum of frequencies that was pleasant on the ears; not harsh. Yes, the 8" sub won't produce a thump on the dance floor. But, it's a tight punchy bass that's definitely present. It sounds the way an 8" sub is expected to sound ... actually, one of the best 8" subs I've heard. I like the "lunchbox" handle that allows me to easily move the system if I have to, even after the array is attached. You can't do that with the TS. I like the 2.75" drivers and that they're angled in different positions. Fuller sound and better horizontal dispersion. I like the higher wattage (900W) and SPL (121dB) than the ip500 (600W / 118dB). Frequency response is wider on the MLS900. Although it doesn't have built-in reverb like the TS, I plan to use an external mixer w/ effects, anyway. The MLS900 provides a nice flat surface to lay a small mixer on top, whereas the TS doesn't. I like that the array sections "click" into place, ensuring a secure mount. The only CON is that the MLS900 gets hot. I resolved this with a small fan placed behind the unit. I'm blown away with the product! It fulfilled all of my needs! Harbinger is, definitely, a brand worth looking at!

Great for what it is

I've been gigging with this thing for about a year and I like it for the price and for what it is, which is an entry level tower PA. You don't buy a unit like this to fill a big venue with sound. This is for small acoustic acts or solo musicians on a budget to quickly get into the game and sound good in smaller venues like restaurants and bars. I think it sounds good, especially for the price. I've read some reviews that state otherwise but I also play in a full band and a duo in which we use other line array systems. This sounds every bit as good as my buddy's older Bose L1 and he's said as much himself. It doesn't quite hang with our JBL PRX1, but that system is a monster. I use this with my Mackie DL1608 mixer for some added features because it's pretty bare bones, but I've also had nights where I've kept it simple and ran myself directly through the onboard mixer and it worked out just fine. I've even pulled off outdoor gigs with this with no problem. If you're a solo or duo act in the market for something on the cheap that'll get you gigging in smaller bars and restaurants this is a great option. I will say, however, if you're going direct and using one of the inputs on the mic setting, it's relatively quiet all the way until you get to about 7-8 o'clock and then it's super loud. So it's kind of one or the other. Problem solved, though, if you're using this with an external line level mixer.

  • Decent for small venues but poorly constructed

I've used this unit four times for solo performances and it has been handled with care. The most recent time I used it the release Push button on one of the mic inputs fell out - it literally just dropped out of the unit. Doesn't go back in and without it any mic cable that gets input cannot come out. The unit sound good for the money but I when small things like this go wrong it is a real issue.

You can only use 3 inputs at a time not 8. There is no build in effects which is just sad. The bottom column has no speakers in it so if you're sitting in a chair, you can't hear the high end. Disappointed that these things aren't stated.

We use this in a our youth room that's 30 by 50 and they are more than great. We do not use monitors because the sound quality is so evenly distributed. Small enough to fit in a car and easy enough that the kids can set it up.

I've had these for about 4 years now and use 2 of them for smaller gigs for a 6 piece country band. We only put vocals through them. Very impressed with the sound quality! We've even used them outdoors and they projected well enough. Obviously these will not work work you need a big PA but for small to mid size, they work great.
