Piedmont Wales

I've been playing the harp since 1972 when i was stuck in detention at high school. It seemed like a good way to break the blue(no pun intended). My first harp was a plastic harp I had received as a stocking stuffer. Since those days I've preferred Horners Pro-harps and Lee Oscars but, I must say...these Piedmonts allow bending the notes like only the Oscars could...or so I thought...@ twenty dollars for seven harps & in it's handy nylon case...I think I'll buy two or three more sets... good form Thanks, G.C. Great case, junk harps

I picked this up mostly for the case. I had not played a Hohner until I bought this set and if this is any indication, I don't want to. I own three Lee Oskers and needed a case, plus I needed the rest of the set. So I figured that I would replace these at worst with Lee Oskers as I could, and use the ones in this set as stand-ins. Boy, these are last resort harps here! These are give away harps. They are slightly smaller than a regular harp, and the plastic body makes them harder to play than a metal case. You have to force more air in and out than a metal harp, and playing them rubs the paint off telling you what key it is in. They sound wretched until they break in, but my Lee Oskers didn't need break in. When Im done, Ill sell these to the drunks who think they can play with me for $2 each. They are junk. I wouldn't even recommend them for beginners because they will frustrate you. Get a good set. The case is nice, but could use a handle.

bought these for my granddaughter as her first harps. she is just starting to learn, and I wanted something that had a descent sound at a more inexpensive price (as most people now kids don't always stay with some things). I started out with something like these 40 years ago

  • Great! Completely happy!

Bought these to add a little more variance in the band. Great kit. Love that it comes with a case.

the covers are plastic and leave a horrible plastic taste in your mouth that lasts for days. They let so much air escape that in order to get asound you run out of breath immediately. They sound just awful too. The only upside is the case is awesome. If you buy 7 decent harmonicas and put them in there you'll have a great harmonica kit. Don't use these harmonicas to judge the quality of Hohner harmonicas Hohner Blues Harp and Hohner Special 20 are some of the best harmonicas ever made.

Let me start by saying I'm not a great harp player by any stretch but know some tricks of the trade. Bought these to try and get back into playing. Learned many years ago on a Marine Band that came with an instructional cassette tape! I found it nearly impossible to bend certain notes on these Piedmont harps. Construction is all plastic. Weak sound. Intonation could be better on them. Perhaps this would make a good stocking stuffer for a kid a Christmas but these won't get you very far if you are serious about learning. All the popular keys are covered and you get a case.
