Ibanez AM73B Electric Guitar Flat Tobacco

Description
The Ibanez AM73B Electric Guitar merges classic looks with a smaller body and upgraded features, creating an instrument suited for any genre. Its maple top, back and sides provide the perfect blend of warmth and articulation, while the mahogany neck offers comfort and speed. Although the AM73B appears like a traditional semi-hollowbody, its compact size makes it extremely lightweight and playable. A pair of humbuckers deliver tones from sparkling cleans to snarling distortion at the flick of a switch, expanding this guitar's tonal versatility. The bound rosewood fretboard provides an elegant final touch. When you want the sound of a semi-hollowbody but prefer the feel of a solidbody, the AM73B delivers.
Compact Semi-Hollowbody Construction
While the AM73B emulates the tones and sustain of a semi-hollowbody, its smaller size offers the comfort of a solidbody. The AM shape was an original Ibanez design from the early 1980s that incorporates the classic semi-acoustic shape in a more compact, ergonomic format. This construction reduces bulk and weight, making the AM73B ideal for players of smaller stature or anyone seeking a more comfortable instrument.
Dual Humbuckers for Versatile Tone Shaping
A pair of humbucking pickups equip the AM73B with a range of tones suited for any genre. Adjust the three-way toggle to select the bridge pickup for bright, articulate tones; the neck pickup for warm, bassy sounds; or combine both pickups for a balanced blend.
Walnut Fretboard Provides Smooth Playability
The AM73B's walnut fretboard offers a smooth playing surface and vintage-inspired looks. Bound in cream for an elegant accent, the fretboard's moderate size makes it comfortable for most playing styles. 24 medium frets allow for expressive note bending and vibrato. The Ibanez AM73B's rosewood fretboard provides an excellent balance of beauty, comfort and tone.
Additional Highlights
Chrome hardware, a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide rock solid tuning stability and intonation. Die cast tuners turn smoothly for quick string changes. A three way toggle selects between the AM73B's pickups for even more tonal variations. Overall, the Ibanez AM73B offers stunning vintage inspired looks, comfort and playability for guitarists seeking an affordable, do-it-all electric guitar.

Always loved the Epi's and Gibsons. Just hated the weight and the necks. I grew up playing fenders so I'm a bit biased. Ibanez always has something I'd lie to have but it doesn't fit my style of playing. Believe it or not, Tele's fit me best. However, I could not help picking one up at Guitar Center Nashville and I almost can't pick my arsenal of tele's up anymore. This is a machine, not hacked piece of rotted river timber. I tried all of the "full" bodied semi hollows and full hollows (after my first 72 thinline, I can't go solid body again) and this felt stronger, better made, lighter, more manageable and the sound was sweeter to me than the epi's and Gibbys. Just got try it. Everything was set-up perfect so I didn't have to change a thing. I highly recommend this guitar for stage and recording. The price is probably the best thing about it. I thrive off of affordable and unique. I don't like high end anything. It's overrated to me. Get this, you shall not be disappointed. Thanks and rock on!

You get what you give...
This is a guitar that asks for little and gives little in return. It simply will not stay in tune and the input jack loosens and if you do not retighten it constantly, the nut will fall off. If you get within a foot or so of your amp or are using heavy distortion you will get feedback. With that said, when it is in tune it sounds great and I love it. If you are willing to buy this guitar and some new tuning machines, go for it. However, if you wanted to buy this guitar and have it be everything you wanted right off the bat, I'm sorry but I think you should look into other brands.

Love it - Good Guitar for a Great Value

I bought this to get more of jazz/blues tones than I can w/ my Tele. I'd played a friend's Gibson 339 (same size) and really liked it but couldn't justify the cost. I also tried & liked the Epiphone 339, but I liked the AM73b better. I bought mine used. It's a 2020 model that looked like it had never been played. Very comfortable body and neck. Tuners work well on this one. Action and intonation were easy to setup, an it plays great. However, I did struggle finding the tones I wanted with the stock ceramic pickups. They're not bad, but they weren't giving me what I was looking for. I think they're too hot for a semi-hollow. Fortunately, I had a pair of Gibson classic 57's from a previous busted guitar. After installing these in the AM73b, I got the sound I was looking for. I love playing it. Overall, great guitar value.

Far Above Expectations

When I un-boxed this guitar, it was far above my expectation. It has a very vintage appearance yet a very modern touch as well. The set up out of the box was very good and well balanced. The tones it produces is such a delight. For the price this is great instrument.
Great Quality

I love the quality of this guitar but I am not crazy about the sound. It doesn't meet my standards for my gigging band but that is not a surprise given its price point. I still love it. To be more specific, I don't like it in a mix. However, it is great for practicing and jamming at home. And the acoustics are good so you can practice scales and stuff without plugging it in. I don't like the stock photo above. I think the finish is much nicer than that. At least I think mine is. I included some photos. I love the thin neck profile, the set up and low action is great. The three way selector is nice and stiff (I prefer it that way), the tone nobs have a full sweep motion, and they have a good sure grip feel. The binding looks great all over the guitar. It has a nice arch top on the back. I really like the design on the headstock. Depending on what year you get the headstock may have a different shape btw. I am not crazy about the pick ups. However, the build quality of this guitar (and of Ibanez) is so nice that I have upgraded to an AR420. I really like Ibanez guitars. She is neck heavy but that can be counteracted with a suede or grippy strap. I have 7 guitars in total so I may set mine up as a slide guitar. Overall, I recommend this product to an advanced beginner and/or early intermediate player that wants to upgrade their instrument. It feels really great in the hands.
Easily my favorite guitar

My local GC had a used AM793B that I checked out. I loved it in-store and was left thinking about it for days afterwards. By the time I decided to go back in to make the purchase, someone else had snagged it. No worries, though. I had zero issues with buying it new. I'm a little over a year into learning how to play guitar and I've already amassed a collection of five guitars, however, I find myself playing this one most often. Regardless of whether I'm playing it with an amp or unplugged, I'm completely satisfied with the experience. I'm sharing a couple of videos for those who might be curious about what it sounds like plugged in vs unplugged. Again, I'm still learning, so my playing isn't going be perfect. Plugged in: Larkin Poe's 'She's a Self Made Man' recorded through the Focusrite Scarlett Solo with the Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 plugin. Unplugged: Pink's 'So What' recorded through my Pixel 3a's mic.
Fits like a glove, and sounds magical!

I could not forget the feeling of practicing on this guitar years ago. I actually bought a more expensive guitar instead of it. For the holidays, I decided to just add it to my collection. It's the best feeling guitar and almost the least expensive I own. Love the sound and ease of play…a guitar with attitude… in a smaller body. You can't go wrong with this one!
