Very happy w this guitar. Was looking to add a semi hollow to my collection. Looked at and played a couple affinity Starcasters but was not that impressed, they felt cheap and I am a Squier guy [ I own 5 ] The AS53 feels nothing like that and just appears to be a better quality instrument all around. I would highly recommend if u are looking for a sub 350 dollar semi hollow. Great customer service from GC as well...

This is an excellent guitar, especially for the money. I really prefer things that are built with simplicity and quality and with form following function, although those things are typically really expensive. This obviously is not. I'd buy it again.

I had 12 guitars and I kept going back to my Ibanez Semi-hollow (black enamel with pearl inlay) because it was just so darn easy to pick up and play anything. So, when I saw this model with a larger body I couldn't resist. It is light but the resonance is equal to a full hollow body I have. Plays great as acoustic or electric. Tone adjustment is really responsive on this guitar. I can go from finger picking to Blues to Rock or folk and it handles all of it well. Makes me sound better and isn't that what you want from your guitar?

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be about 8 lbs
