Ibanez Bass BTB Series - BTB745NTL

Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

Evolving and perfecting, the Ibanez BTB series has always aimed at expanding the player’s full range of creative expression. The elegant, curving, massive body of select tone woods and dedicated equipment provide huge tones. Neck-through construction with a 35-in scale, a two-octave fretboard and a super-deep cutaway promise sleek playability and rich sustain. The BTB series defines what the “Boutique Bass” is all about.

The Ash wing body with a Walnut top/Mahogany back brings a superior sound attack and a firm low end. The 35-in. scale 5pc Wenge/Bubinga/Maple through-neck provide a tight low end and massive sustain. The Jatoba fretboard has Stainless Steel frets for bright tone, and with high durability. It also has a zero fret for accurate intonation and minimal string action—opening the string sound to be the same as other frets.

Electronics include Bartolini BH2 pickups for tight bottom end, a full mid range with a smooth response. Combined with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ w/3-way Mid frequency switch, the BTB745 allows tonal variation which covers from simple chord work to complex soloing. The Mono-rail V allows for a wider intonation adjustment range and each isolated bridge is securely locked down to the body for maximum vibration transfer without interference. D'Addario NYXL strings are installed to expand the dynamic range and harmonic response. It also includes a high-tech Neutrik locking output jack for stable and secure connections, preventing accidental disconnect or shock and vibration.

For me personally, I love the tonal qualities I'm able to get. Brings a deep richness, and with a little boost of the treble, beautiful springs when playing with your fingers. I feel the weight as pretty balanced, and not as heavy as I was expecting. I did have mine set up, and since then, it plays and feels like melting butter. I'd recommend playing one if you get the chance.

This is a 100% professional instrument with affordable price, the sound is amazing and the construction and the finishes are outstanding, really is a boutique bass! Its sound is really unique as an Ibanez instument. It could be perfect if the electronics were active and passive.

I Bought this as a my second bass and i fell in love with and play it everyday. The bass is very versatile and comfortable minus it being a bit heavy. It stays in tune amazingly and has a Fat Nice B string.

The description of this bass, says it has passive pickups, why does this bass needs a 9v battery?

Hello. I just purchased this great instrument and am satisfied. Although, when it arrived it has a Jatoba fretboard instead of the described rosewood. I am new to this material. So my question is, do I treat it as rosewood or maple, as far as treating and cleaning it go. Thank You. Any info will be appreciated.

Yes. The woods are very similar in structure and are cared for the same.
