Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

If you crave a new bass tool to enrich your creative palette, the Ibanez Bass Workshop may have already built your next instrument. This product group focuses on combining unusual concepts with the bass-building virtuosity on which Ibanez has built its reputation.

Unlike other hollow body basses, the SRH boasts a unique concept: the integration of the authentic feel expected in a hollow body and the key features that distinguish SRH500F fretless as a contemporary bass. With its sleek, compact, comfortable lightweight body, the SRH breaks another boundary to open up your playing.

With its maximized hollow space, Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, the 55 mm-thick semi-hollow body delivers a rich acoustic tone. The specially designed forearm contour on the body top offers playing comfort, and adds an elegant accent to its appearance.

A bound Panga Panga fingerboard features black fret lines that balance competing goals for guiding positions and keep the fretboard from disturbing the atmosphere expected in a fretless layout. A contoured neck heel is applied to create a deep neck joint with unfettered access to upper frets.

The custom bridge contains the magic of the AeroSilk Piezo system, which works with D'Addario ECB81 flat wound strings to provide that sense of “air” that characterizes the upright sound. Case sold separately.

I really do like this bass for it's feel and tone. It very much has a resemblance to the upright bass. I plan to use this instrument in more performances

I am beyond pleased with this bass. The fretless, flatwound strings take almost no effort to intone, and the tone is warm and vibrant. Dailing in the pots for each string on the bridge pick-up allows a flexibility not found on other bass guitars that sell for.significantly.more money. Good value, good sound, a dream to play. Highly recommend!

More beautiful than the photos ever portray it. Solid feel, easy neck to play. Tone is amazingly similar to an upright bass.

This guitar definitely has a place in the bass world! I love the unique sound of this bass. Great for acoustic venues or low key settings. Mostly, i play classic rock, and have to use a different bass, because it seems this bass doesn't have the drive needed.

I love the bass; the feel and sound exceeded my expectations. But the guitar appeared to have been used and it had a small gash on the side of the upper bout. No sign of damage to the box it was shipped in.

  • Worth the wait!

I love how this bass sounds and feels. It has a pretty, smooth acoustic sound. Th A-string buzzed a little but I bought a fret wrap and that fixed the problem. I am so satisfied with this bass even though I had to wait 3 1/2 months to get it!
