Description
The Ibanez EHB1505 brings the headless design to the realm of 5-string basses, pairing smart ergonomics with versatile sound shaping. The EHB1505 starts with a resonant foundation of figured poplar burl topped African mahogany. Its slick headless format trims excess weight for hours of fatigue-free playing, while the contoured backrest and beveled horn grant unfettered access to the highest frets. Outfitted with Nordstrand humbucking pickups and a 3-band EQ, the EHB1505 supplies a spectrum of tones perfect for the studio or stage. Discover new creative freedom with the uniquely comfortable Ibanez EHB1505 headless 5-string bass.
Play Comfortably for Hours With the Ergonomic Headless Design
The headless configuration of the EHB1505 sheds unnecessary mass for a lightweight feel that makes extended playing sessions a breeze. Its body contours mold to your torso whether seated or standing, while a beveled cutaway and recessed backrest grant seamless access to the 24th fret and beyond. The extended upper fret range enables more expressive soloing and harmonics. A smooth satin finish enhances resonance while minimizing friction against your body and forearm. Between its ergonomic body shaping and lightweight headless format, the EHB1505 provides unhindered comfort for exploring the outer limits of the fingerboard.
Fat, Clear Tone With Mahogany Body and Nordstrand Pickups
For robust low-end punch and rich sustain, the EHB1505 pairs a figured poplar burl top with an African mahogany body. Its smooth frequency response and singing overtones bring out the best in the custom-voiced Nordstrand Big Split humbucking pickups. With ceramic magnets, these pickups convey tight and focused mids with plenty of grind in the lows and silky highs. Switch between parallel and series modes to tailor the output and tonal character. A 3-band EQ lets you hone the bass, treble and midrange frequencies with cut/boost up to 15dB, while the EQ bypass returns you to the pure passive tone.
Smooth and Precise Playing Feel
The EHB1505's nine-piece maple/walnut neck provides rock-solid stability thanks to graphite reinforcement rods. Its smooth panga panga fingerboard facilitates effortless runs across its 20 jumbo stainless steel frets. The 18 mm string spacing at the bridge prevents inadvertent muting of adjacent strings when playing with a heavy hand. Whether you favor fingerstyle funk or hard rock pummeling, the EHB1505's premium components help your technique shine.
Gig-Ready Features Like Locking Jack and S-Lock Straps
The EHB1505 comes prepared for the demands of gigging and the road. Its Neutrik locking output jack secures your cable connection through rowdy sets, while Schaller S-Locks keep your strap firmly attached. The truss rod adjustment wheel simplifies maintenance, providing easy access without removing the neck. Luminescent side dots make onstage positioning a breeze in dimly lit venues. For safe storage and transport, a padded gig bag is included.

I will be returning this used instrument tomorrow. One of the plastic knobs was broken / warped right out of the 3x used GIBSON BOX this ' Brand New " Ibanez was shipped in. It had a lot of DUST on the pickups. I dont believe the Nords are working properly. The back battery cover will not close flat. The " Luminescent inlays " are not at all Luminescent - good luck seeing where you are at in dark environments. Why rhey chose to put the neck markers off on the side where you cant see is beyond me. The Strap lock could not be in a worse position - there should be two of them - " for one size fits all " compatibility - close to the input jack wouldve been a nice spot for a second strap lock. But those are the small details to a 2000.00 instrument ( with 60 month care and taxes ) that is in desperate need of better QUALITY CONTROL - on behalf of Ibanez AND Guitar Center. Whomever shipped it to atlanta after I ordered it, shipped it with the knob broken, for sure. As there is no indication that it happened during actual shipment - calling it " Brand New " NOPE - No Can Do Brian Matthews

First of all the good sides of the bass. My particular bass weighs in at 7lbs on the dot. The natural finish feels great, and the neck plays insanely smooth. The top on the bass is beautiful as most of Ibanez's Poplar Burl tops are and you can clearly tell where the chambering is located throughout the body whenever your finger tip taps around one. The bass plays great and I love the ability to change the string spacing on my own from the bridge. Tuners and knobs are all very smooth too. There are almost too many little tone options you can pull out of this bass. Now sadly the bad aspects of this bass. The top of the non existent headstock is stamped with the model number and serial number of the bass which doesn't bother me at all, but on the electronics cover on the back of the bass they decided to stamp in the "made in Indonesia" along with the little trash can logo and such, which kind of annoys me. The rear strap button is right above the tuners so it sits lower in an odd spot and because of where the button is located, every strap I have tried runs up the body of the bass and is constantly rubbing against my arm which can get annoying at times. The fit and finish overall are a bit lacking as well. I'm not sure what the nut is made of and it's is not cut straight at the bottom and has a visible gap running along it's front. The neck pocket looks pretty rough too, and the pocket bottom is squared off even though the neck is rounded so there are gaps in the corners of the pocket. there are also pretty big tolerance gaps in the pockets recessed for the knobs, which I feel would have been easy to fix. The biggest annoyance though, is there are little chips of wood in the cutouts of the body under the top, so I am constantly hearing little things rattle around inside the bass with no way to get them out.

How is the best way to care for the wood?
Keeping it in a case when not in use, and when you have to wipe it down just get a soft cloth will prevent any unwanted reactions to the finish.
