Being a drummer for many years, I've always wanted to learn bass so I picked this up (used from my local GC) and it seems good so far. I see this as a good learing bass and I will likely purchase sometihng else once I progress.

Play bluegrass and wanted an inexpensive lefty bass to take instead of the doghouse. My first "Good" bass was an Ibanez Soundgear years ago...loved it, wish I'd never sold it.. Saw this at the local GC, the only lefty bass there BTW. Wife's first words was "It's sexy looking." Changed the strings and it works for bluegrass, gospel, rock, country, jazz, anything. Extremely fast neck. People talk about it being a beginner bass, but I've taken it to theme parks, festivals, churches, everywhere. Had a little issue with tone knob being loose but that could've been because it's in store item, easy fix.

I got the urge to learn to play bass, so I picked up one of these from my local GC. Plugged in at the store and it sounded and felt fantastic, IMO. This is a fun bass to learn to play.

Bought this for my girl friend. At first my overall impression was: "meh." But I figured at least it's cheap. Very shortly after getting this brand new bass the e string broke. The GF was in tears. So I ran to the local guitar shop and purchased a set of D'addario EXL165 strings, as per their recommendations. Obviously whatever Ibanez put on was junk (broke and sounded and played horribly.) The new strings made this guitar come alive with tone and character. Differences in tone between bridge and neck pickups became very distinct. Much more sustain, bend, overall control and playability. Much easier on the fingers. She doesn't have to press as hard and no more buzz.

  • Not very good overall

It goes out of tune knobs get loose and fall off, fret buzz is also a bad problem. It has an ok sound but not the best option.

  • The knobs and pickups come very loose

I like the looks of it but thats about it. There are to many things that come broken in the package for it to even be used for a beginner.
