i have been playing korn song for a year now with my peavey bxp 5 string and it was ok. then i got the k5 and now my house shakes it small lite weight and very easy to play. i play it through a peavey tour 450 and a fender 4x10 and the bottom end is unbleaveable.its worth the money.

Fieldy has always been one of my inspirations as a bassist so I've wanted this bass for a long time. I recently got it it and I am very pleased with it. The motto for it is, "With Korn's sound, any sound is possible" for this bass that is actually true. Being a 5 string bass that is already true but the bass also has 6 EQ's on it which really gives you any sound you want. When you get this bass it will have the clicky sound that Fieldy is known for.If you hate that sound, you will need to adjust the action a bit. If you are looking for a great bass the K5 is a great choice. Also I should mention the K5 is practically weightless. Fieldy likes his basses lightweight and man I was shocked when I first picked it up and felt how light it was. It really does have a lot of options and if you are also a fan of Fieldy's and want his sound, obviously this is the one to buy. The only bad things I can think of are some people may hate how light it is, the paint on the body can easily be chipped off (so trim those nails before playing if you play with your fingers)and the main problem I had was that the Ibanez booklet it comes with doesn't explain the EQ's so you gotta go on the website to see what they do.

I'm clueless where to direct my question, so I'm hoping someone can steer me to the right place. My boyfriend has been drooling over an Ibanez K5LTD. The fluorescent green bass mimicking Fieldy's. I found one website taking preorders, but it seems to be exclusively for Canadians. So I'm trying to find out if a pre-order for the U.S. is available, or any info on when the ability to purchase one will be possible. Thank you in advance, Jamie.

I have the early version K5 with two stacked pots which was great until the electronics developed a fault and I had to strip them out. Is it possible to buy the latest version electronics?
Yes you can. If we don't carry them normally we can help you set up a special order. Give us a call at 866-498-7882 and we can get that set up for you.submitted6 years ago
