Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

If Ibanez can lay claim to the title of being the strongest name in Metal guitars, then the RGA is the model this reputation was built on. Every inch of this classic screams speed, fury, and expression.

The RGA742FM is a hardtail 7-string electric built around a Mahogany body with stunning Flamed Maple top. Its contoured top not only looks sleek—it creates a softer, more comfortable edge where the player’s right forearm rests. Other features include a fast, thin, Wizard II-7 maple neck and jatoba fretboard with jumbo frets for maximum left hand performance.

This neck and fretboard combination provides a smooth, inviting playing surface and contributes to the RGA742FM’s warm, well-defined tonality. Proprietary Quantum pickups offer an entire palette of thick, distorted tone textures that never sacrifice high-end articulation. A simple, yet solid fixed bridge provides stable, dependable tuning and accurate intonation. Case sold separately.

Good price for a well made guitar. Love writing songs and playing in local band with it. I would recommend it.

Youre looking at the 2017 models with rosewood fretboard in the photos. The newer 2018 ones youll see inside stores today have less appealing Jatoba fretboard and very nonsymmetrical flame top pattern! Get the Right one. perfect quality for 500 the pickups are just alright.

  • Great guitar, looking forward to buying more in the future!

With the strings the guitar comes with, would it be ok to drop tune it down a step? A D G C F A D. I'm looking to play some Korn right away and wanted to see if a change of strings was needed.

Strings are not typically gauged to drop. If you want to play some Korn, try it.

What strings do these come with? And would it be ok if I changed the strings out the box without needing a setup?

    1) D'Addario® XL110-7. 2) It should be ok -------------- as long as they are the same gauge. If you change the gauge it will most likely need to be set up for that tension.
