collapse expand iconDescription

The Ibanez SRD900F 4-String Fretless Electric Bass Guitar provides an unparalleled level of sonic versatility and playability. Built from premium tonewoods and equipped with dual NordstrandTM magnetic and AeroSilk piezo pickups, the SRD900F delivers a broad range of tones from modern to vintage to upright bass emulation. An Ibanez 2-band EQ incorporates controls for both pickup systems, giving you maximum control over your tone. The AeroSilk MR5 bridge was designed specifically to work with the piezo pickups, enhancing the acoustic qualities for an authentically upright tone. A 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck provides clarity and superior attack.

Dual Pickup Systems Provide Unmatched Tonal Versatility

The SRD900F features both NordstrandTM Big Break magnetic pickups and AeroSilk piezo pickups, allowing a wide range of tones from punchy and modern to warm and vintage to emulating an upright bass. The 2-band EQ gives you control over the blend and tone of both systems, enabling you to create your perfect custom tone.

AeroSilk Piezo Bridge Enhances Upright Bass Emulation

The AeroSilk MR5 bridge was designed specifically to work with the piezo pickups in the SRD900F. Its unique saddles help produce an authentically resonant upright bass tone by enhancing the acoustic qualities of the piezo pickups. Roll off the magnetic pickups and adjust the EQ to emulate the natural sound of an upright.

Extended 30-Fret Fretboard Provides Upright Bass Range

The SRD900F features an extended fretboard with 30 frets, providing access to notes usually only playable on an upright bass. Expand your range and creative possibilities with the extended upper register of the SRD900F fretless fingerboard.

Premium Tonewood Neck and Body

A 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck provides exceptional clarity and attack while an Exotic Maple top and Okoume body produce a balanced, resonant tone. The fretless fingerboard is made from Panga Panga, a wood known for its beautiful grain and balanced tonal response across the frequency range.

I bought this to play during acoustic sets. It is so much more! I've never had a fretless, and I'm so glad I held out for this. The three pickups provide a huge range, from a pretty straightforward dark to medium bright sound for nearly any style, to a pure jazz sound. The piezo is top-notch. I love its sound by itself with the tone all the way up to maximize it's unique quality, and even more if I blend in the neck pu, tone set dark to give all of the bottom without taking anything away from the piezo. It's surprisingly light, and the long Ibanez upper horn greatly reduces (practically eliminates) neck dive. It comes with excellent flat wound strings, which was a big plus for me because I put flats on every bass I get. The flats of course help tremendously with jazz work. This is already, hands down, my favorite bass.

All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 8.5 – 9.5 lbs.
