The JBL VRX918SP 18" flyable active subwoofer delivers chest-thumping low end for small to mid-size venues that refuse to compromise on sound. At its heart is a high-performance 18" woofer with a 2,268FF dual voice coil and neodymium magnet, capable of moving serious air to produce frequencies as low as 35Hz. A built-in 1,500W JBL DrivePack DPC-2 amplifier with DSP provides optimized sound and flexible control over the subwoofer's frequency response.

Earth-Shaking Bass From a Suspendable Enclosure

The VRX918SP's 18" woofer, neodymium magnet and 2,268FF dual voice coil work together to generate a whopping 96dB sensitivity and frequency response down to 35Hz for room-filling low end. Despite its power, the VRX918SP's suspendable enclosure allows it to be flown for portability using its integral rigging hardware. A large rear port aids the woofer in moving air for distortion-free bass.

Road-Ready Reliability

JBL built the VRX918SP to withstand the rigors of live performance and frequent transport. Its premium birch plywood enclosure is coated in durable DuraFlex finish and reinforced with bracing. A protective 16-gauge perforated steel grille prevents damage to the woofer. Threaded mounting points provide secure ground stacking and an optional caster kit is available for maximum portability.

Optimized Sound With Onboard DSP

The built-in JBL DrivePack DPC-2 amplifier provides 1,500W of power to the VRX918SP's woofer. Sophisticated onboard DSP optimizes the subwoofer's frequency response for accurate, full-range sound. EQ, crossover and limiting functions provide flexible tone shaping and protection for the woofer.

These JBL subs are perfect for my applications. I have 2 of these stacked on top of each other, under four powered VRX mids and highs arrays on each side, and the system sounds great. These Subs get muddy if you do not EQ them properly(like every other sub), but once you get your lows seperated from the rest of the mix it's an awesome sound. They are punchy, and loud, you do not have to crank them that high to get a great sound out of them. Get these if you want clean, accurate, bass for your Main Left and Right side PA.
