fromWhy?
I bought this guitar because I wanted a more extreme guitar body shape to complement the music I write and genres that I often like to cover (Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Black Metal, etc.). I've heard A lot of noise about Jackson Guitars, both good and bad, and wanted to see for myself. was excited when I first unboxed it, but when I sat down to play for the first time, three main quality control problems arose. First, the volume pot mounting nut is not secure and needs to be tightened every few minutes. This means that the knob always feels loose, and can over-rotate if you're not careful. Over rotating a pot can damage it which makes this a slight headache. Second, the pickups don't sound good. The neck is muddy, slightly inaudible, and just lifeless when played with distortion. And Lastly, the Jackson branded Locking Nut, sometimes bends the string out of tune when locked, and not even all the way. Overall, Wouldn't recommend a Jackson unless you want to spend around the $500 price point. If you want a guitar around the $350 price point, I would instead recommend an Ibanez, ESP LTD (used market always has something interesting), or a Kramer.

How much weight this guitar?
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 8.5 lbssubmitted3 years ago

I'm looking to get a better whammy bar for this guitar but I'm not sure which one to buy, which one is compatible? Turbo Trem Arm or Push-In Style arm. There's 2 different shades of black for the push-in arm and they both look different, is there an actual difference?
This guitar has the push-in style tremolo arm. There isn't a difference, so either of these should work well.submitted4 years ago
