Jackson

collapse expand iconDescription

The Jackson Pro Soloist SL3M is an assertive state-of-the-art electric guitar designed for comfort, technically demanding performance and versatile sound. The Jackson Pro SL3M's premium features include a resonant basswood body and through-body maple neck with scarf joint and graphite reinforcement rods that provide stiffness and stability to guard against temperature- and humidity-induced bending and warping. Boasting 24 jumbo frets and black piranha tooth inlays, this Jackson's 12"-16" compound radius bound maple fingerboard with 24 frets is designed for highly technical light-speed playing. More curved by the nut for comfortable chording, it flattens out as players move up the neck for increasingly fast playing speed and wide bends without fretting out.

A direct-mount Seymour Duncan Distortion TB-6 bridge pickup provides a powerful low end for balanced rock or metal, while a Seymour Duncan Flat Strat SSL6 RWRP single-coil middle pickup and Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 single-coil neck pickup broadens this guitar's versatility with a glassy, powerful bite. Single volume and tone controls shape the pickups' output, which can be further refined with the five-way blade switch for the precise voice required to bring players' musical vision to life.

The Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo system is recessed for pick hand comfort and providing laser-accurate intonation and ultra-stable tuning.

I wanted this to be the last guitar I bought for many years, but unfortunately after a few weeks I returned it. I loved pretty much every thing about it, maybe even obsessed. The finish, the maple fretboard board, thru body neck, flyod Rose 1000. The Seymour Duncan pickups are great, you can get awesome clean straty sounds and it responds very well to high gain. Also, it's a complete turner, everyone will want to look or comment so get ready for that haha. This big negative for me was the feel of the neck for me. I have played other Jackson's and even the USA soloist guitars and they feel as I would expect, but the neck on this guitar has what I would call a Fat D shape. It is pretty thin, but it just feels so wide. Each side of the neck feels like it has a little bit of a bludgey, you see this refered to as "shoulders"in forums. My hands are medium size though and I was never able to feel comfortable playing it just because of the neck shape. It just kinda would hurt after any intense playing, never had the issue before. So after some diliberation I returned it to just find something that felt super comfy to me. I was really upset returning this guitar because I wanted to love it so badly. Even as someone who is proficient in modifying and setupjng guitars, there was nothing really i could do. The Neck is thru body and I couldn't just get a different neck or else I would have 100% just have done that. If you read this, know the Jackson SL3m is a awesome guitar, one that I wanted to keep with me forever, but the neck, ugh I wish it was more suited to me.

It's awesome! Great build quality, plays fast, looks great. Sounds great. No real complaints to mention. What would I change... active pickups maybe but the SD it comes with sound great and have a lot of versatility. Actives are just a preference for me. But for tye cost hard to beat this head Turner.

  • Absolutely love this guitar

Does this come with a case or not? Above it says it does & it says it does not. It's unbelievable to me that any guitar over a $1000 sells the case separately or comes with a 'bag'! After all, a guitar made in Indonesia or China (all at 1 factory & stamped with different brand names) that sells for $1200-$1500 here, costs $250-$500 to build there.

This guitar does not come with a case but would be compatible with any standard electric guitar case.
