Great Addition to KAT Multipad
I bought this to go along with my KAT multipad because I also have the bass drum trigger and I wanted to expand my sound options. I love this little pedal. It does a great job of controlling the hi-hat sounds on my multipad. I can also adjust it's volume as it provides a "chick" sound as you step down on it which is very responsive. My only complaint is that it doesn't allow for a "partially-open" hi-hat sound--only closed or open. I also wish that it had teeth to prevent it from sliding on a smooth surface (but it does have velcro on the bottom).

I bought this pedal for my Simmons Titan 50 drum set to replace the gummy nonsense that came with it. It was hard to find compatibility information for third-party pedals for that drum set but it works fantastically and it's hard to beat the price.
Great controller pedal!

I use the hi- hat petal with the Kat Percussion multi-pad. The petal is a little noisy. It clicks and clacks a bit, though I use it at lower volumes. I have to lift my foot a little more than I like to get the open sound. Otherwise, it does what I need it to do.

Needed to replace my Roland HH FD8 pedal that died, but wasn't eager to pay >$150 for the Roland unit. Received conflicting info about compatibility- but this works fine out of the box, using the original cable.

Will this work with a Donner DED-400 drumkit?
Yes, it will. You might need to calibrate the pedal in the DED-400’s settings menu to get a realistic open/close response.submitted4 months ago

Will this work will Alesis DM10?
Yes, an Open Box KAT Percussion Hi-Hat Controller Pedal should work with an Alesis DM10 module — but with a couple of important notes: The Alesis DM10 accepts continuous variable hi-hat controllers (not just simple switch pedals), and the KAT pedal is designed to be a continuous controller, meaning it can send a smooth range of values (open to closed). You may need to calibrate it inside the DM10 module's settings to get proper behavior (open/closed/half-open sounds). Build and sensitivity may not exactly match an Alesis-branded controller like the Alesis Pro X Hi-Hat, but it should function for most practical playing purposes. In short: it should be compatible, especially for normal open/close control, but you might have to tweak the calibration and expectations slightly.submitted6 months ago
