  • COULD BE DECENT KEYBOARD BUT MANUALS ABYSMAL

KORG is a great keyboard company but lately due to their failure to print manuals you will wholeheartedly regret getting this keyboard if you are a sequencer because the manual is so bad you will never understand how to use it. Save your money and get a keyboard with PRINTED MANUALS.

  • A good product with a rather steep learning curve

This is a feature-packed machine for sure, and many of them are super easy to use. But you'll need to take a deep dive if you really want to take advantage of all it can do. Korg doesn't call it a "work" station for nothing . . . the Parameter Guide alone is 336 pages long! With a bit of patience and some basic keyboard knowledge most people should be able to get up to speed over a long weekend of dedicated manual reading combined with some Korg tutorials on YouTube. If you think that's too much then this product is probably not for you.

  • I would by this keyboard again .

I use this keyboard on the weekends in a live situation with my band. This keyboard was very easy to set splits/combinations and save as favorites that can be recalled instantly. The keyboard action is not very good, but the sound/features/weight outweigh that fact. The midi sequencer is limited as well but if you do your sequencing externally with your DAW then import into the KROSS 2, problem solved!! Overall, this keyboard sounds amazing and will work well in a band/live situation. The sounds are new and relevant while also giving you the classic timbres like EPs, Pianos, and Organs. Tough to beat in it's price range. A great little keyboard.

I use this keyboard on the weekends with a band in a live situation. This board packs a lot of sound and literally weighs nothing(under 10 lbs). It was very easy to set up splits/combinations that could be saved for use with the band. The keyboard action leaves a little to be desired, but all the other features of this board outweigh the mediocre keyboard action... adjusting the velocity helps to fake a better feel, but the action leaves a bit to be desired. The midi sequencer is limited but you can work around its limitations by recording your sequences on your DAW and importing into the KROSS 2. According to Korg, it comes with expanded PCM that will be supported in the future. For someone like me who plays music every weekend this is a great keyboard for the price. I would recommend this keyboard to any gigging musician who like me, hates carrying heavy sh@# to gigs. The sounds are great and can always be tweaked to your liking.

Can you create a chain of saved patches for a live gig that can be advanced via a foot pedal/switch (similar to a scene chain on Roland's)?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
Yes, on the Korg Kross 2, you can set up a chain of patches (called Favorites) for live use, and you can advance through them with a footswitch. Favorites mode lets you organize a list of your favorite sounds — patches (Programs) and Combis — into a specific order. You can assign a footswitch (like a Korg PS-1, PS-3, or any standard momentary pedal) to move through Favorites. Every press of the footswitch moves you to the next sound in your list — just like advancing through scenes on a Roland. Save Your Sounds in Favorites::: Pick a sound (Program or Combination). Press the Favorite button to go into Favorites mode. Press and hold a Favorite slot button (like 1–16) to assign that sound. Build your whole gig's setlist this way — each Favorite slot = next sound. Set Up the Footswitch::: Plug your footswitch into the Assignable Switch jack. Go to the Global settings (GLOBAL mode). Assign the Assignable Switch function to Favorite Up. (You’ll see a list of things you can assign — "Favorite Up" is what you want.) Now when you’re in Favorites mode, each press of the pedal will advance to the next saved patch. If you reach the end of your Favorites list during a gig, pressing again cycles back to the first Favorite. You can also set up "Combis" that layer multiple sounds or split the keyboard if needed.

I was told by y'all on here that you can add the M1 sounds to this board via SD card. I've asked a few keyboard players, and they have all told me it can't be done. Can you point me in the right direction? If not i'm going to return the keyboard. Thanks

It will be roughly the same amount of difficulty. They use pretty much the same system for both of them.
