Introducing the 2nd Wave of the LP-Series

collapse expand iconDescription

The Kali Audio LP-8 V2 is an 8" studio monitor designed to deliver transparent sound for creators working across genres and formats at a price that puts it within anyone's reach. An advanced waveguide, a large voice coil and precision tuning make the sound extraordinarily transparent, while the oversized low-frequency magnet and low-noise port tube deliver powerful, clean bass response.

To make it easy to integrate into your setup, the speaker is self-powered and has a variety of inputs. The DSP features Boundary EQ settings that optimize the speaker's response for where it's placed in your listening space. The 2nd version includes an improved amplifier platform that offers lower noise, higher sensitivity and smoother high-frequency response. The Boundary EQ settings have been updated based on user feedback, and the low-frequency driver cone has less mass for more consistent response.

Pro studio quality sound at an affordable price

This is the first pair of professional studio monitors I've owned. As someone who has been enamored by sound design and synthesis it only made sense for me to purchase a monitor that would compliment my passion for professional sound while also understanding my budgetary needs. In a new era of homegrown sound engineers and DIY home/bedroom studio producers, the importance of being able to create records with aurally stunning audio that can compete with major label releases at a fraction of the cost is truly a blessing! From the practical and easily adjustable dip switches on each monitor allowing the user more control over their mix with high and low frequency trim to the easy to understand software that assists your process by providing intuitive graphic representation of what each speaker is delivering, I'm not finding much at all to complain about. After setting my LP-8s up and calibrating my workspace for optimal performance and audio playback I feel much more confident in the music I'm producing. How you've managed to design a speaker that can deliver this level of quality without a price tag containing commas, I'll never know, but I can safely say that Kali Audio has successfully earned themselves a grateful new customer. Cheers!

Poor quality control and weak customer service.

i bought these as another pair of reference monitors as backups to my Focals. The noise level on these is unacceptable. Also, there is an occasional loud pop when turn off the monitors, likely from the on/offswitch being directly adjacent to power plug socket. An inquiry with Kali Audio stated it as just "static electricity" and not to worry about it. Oooook. Sure thing...lol. They did not offer any remedy or further assistance. Maybe it is the effect of the pandemic, but this company is not one of my favorites. Cheap, poorly designed product with even worse customer service.

When comparing these speakers to the rest for EDM production. I found that these had the best clarity for the highs while still having a punchy bass. Even the Yamaha HS8s lacked that punchy bass. So far, I have been incredibly happy with them. Excellent quality for a great price. Significantly less than Yamahas or KRKs. #sweepstakes

  • Great Reference Sound at an Affordable Price

I heard about this from Glenn Fricker and I have to say, they sound incredible for the price. I opted for the 8 inch for the better transient response. They are alot bigger than I expected and I honestly could have got away with the smaller 6 inch size for my modest bedroom studio. The bass is deep and the noise is minimal. I can't hear it at my desk. They have revised these speakers and now have revison 2s out with even lower noise, so that's a plus! Unless you have or want to spent thousands of dollars on monitors, then you wont find a better speaker under a grand. They have amp connection options and the dip switchs for room correction. What else do you need? Grab these!

I also took advantage of the stupid deal of the day and I'm so happy I did! One of the reviewers below left a positive review but says there are much better speakers but they cost thousands more. Even at thousands more I'm not sure there are many that are "much" better than these. These are so incredibly good. Not only are they my go to monitors, they've also replaced my KEF bookshelf speakers for pleasure listening. They bring everything to the foreground allowing you to hear all of the nuances in a song which makes them perfect for mixing. Hard to believe they've supposedly improved these speakers with the new LP-8 ver 2. I haven't listened to the LP-6. I'm sure they're incredible, but my music is always bass heavy and I have the ability to really hear the lows with the 8's. Although be warned, these are not small speakers. I was going to get those side desk mounts for stands for these but now I'm worried these will be too big for those stands. Better off getting traditional floor stands. But yeah, if you can afford these, which most people should be able to, then do yourself a favor and pick them up. You seriously won't be upset for doing so.
