Description
The Dark Side Fuzz multi-effects pedal from Keeley Engineering is a revolutionary multi-effects unit that combines analog fuzz, delay and modulation in one innovative stompbox. This hand-built pedal that lets players explore a galaxy of tones. The Dark Side's analog fuzz circuit delivers transparent distortion inspired by 1970s op-amp fuzzes, while its digital side features 12 tape delay variations and four modulation effects: flanger, rotary speaker, univibe and phaser. An expression pedal (not included) unlocks even more tonal possibilities on the fly.
Analog Meets Digital for Endless Soundscapes
At the heart of the Dark Side are analog fuzz and a high-end 24-bit DSP engine. Keeley studied decades of gear to craft sounds that capture the essence of the originals while providing a range of new tones. The rotary effect is more chorused than Keeley's Monterey pedal and the univibe throbs with greater intensity. The four-stage phaser emulates Keeley's Jimi Hazel Phase Delay. Like the Monterey, the Dark Side is completely handbuilt in the U.S.A. with premium components for unparalleled tone.
Delay and Modulation Galore
The Dark Side's delay offers 12 different syncopated rhythms with the warmth of vintage tape delays. Subtle modulations make the repeats musical and an expression pedal controls the number of repeats for oscillating feedback effects. The modulation side provides flanger, rotary speaker cabinet, univibe and phaser effects. Blend the "Electric Lady" flanger with the Les-Rotary cabinet for new sounds or find the perfect blend of univibe and phaser.
Connect Your Way
A TRS insert lets you add other effects between the fuzz and delay/modulation sections. Connect an expression pedal to control many parameters in real time for more fun and functionality. The expression pedal must use a TRS connection.
Road-Ready and Built to Last
The Dark Side's rugged enclosure is ready to handle life on the road. Premium components and hand-built construction in the USA ensure years of inspiring tone. When you're ready to explore new frontiers of sound, plug into the Dark Side Fuzz multi-effects pedal.

Wish it could do delay and modulation together
The modulation effects share the same internal circuitry as the delay, so you have to choose via a toggle switch which one you want to use. They should have used a foot switch IMO so you don't have to stoop down and change it. Having both work simultaneously would have been much better of course. I keep it on the modulation setting for the most part and just use an external delay. Good build quality. Good for emulating that Gilmour sound.

Good not the end all be all
Ok the fuzz is nice full but don't clean up too well with your volume control. The phaser, flanger and other effects are ok but not the best compared to stand alone. I mean really I don't get the purpose of this pedal. If I am putting it front of my amp and can only use flanger and phaser or rotory why put in a delay?? I found using the delay and the fuzz was most pleasing to playing. That said it's missing tap tempo. I understand you can add an expression. My recommendation make it bigger. Put in tap tempo. No do not make it the same size and cram it in like the tone workstations. It's useless for us. Many love it but I found a better fuzz delay combination that cleans up and is more versatile for the money spent. Plus I had an issue with the input seemed not reliable. However it could be because GC sent me their demo for new like the like to sneak in.

It saved me from buying a bunch of smaller pedals that I was just going to try and make sounds this way anyhow. Brilliant and it plays very well with my board.
