Incredibly useful.. easy to get started, difficult to master
I primarily use the kemper stage profiler for home studio recordings. I have horrendous acoustics and neighbors that aren't into loud, frenetic thrashing at 3 AM. I hook this up to my Apollo Twin interface. I record an analog signal (wet/master) and I record spdif/digital (dry) at the same time. If the track does not sit well in the mix, it is very easy and convenient having a dry signal that i can reamp right away. I didnt get the rack unit just because this includes everything that comes eith the unpowered rack, and its much lighter and portable.

Great software technology, questionable hardware
The technology of this equipment is amazing. You have thousands of rigs (vintage and modern) at your toe tips. Very real sounding. However, there is a production lot of these units that has faulty foot switches which of course is what I received. I am not the only one though. There are several post on social media of people with the same experience. It's very frustrating to pay that much money for a piece of equipment and have to send it back and wait for another while hoping the next one works. Kemper's Customer service has been good so far but I don't have a new unit yet so I may edit post. Hopefully not though. I will add the button test photo. Each one should have a 6 on bottom number because I pressed the button 6 times. As of now I still reccomend the product but depending on how the fix goes I may edit.

Can replace amps. Excellent sounds. Tons of effects. Very portable. Will need a good monitor set up or even the effects loop in of a regular amp. Zero cons, All positives. Add profiles and store your entire set up with a USB. Highly recommend getting a Kemper Stage

I've had the Kemper Stage for almost a year. I mostly use it for worship using a Taylor T5z or a strat. Each guitar has their own performance and amps. The T5z has two acoustic profiles dialed in perfectly, and three electric profiles covering a range of sound. It's far more versatile and lighter than a real amp. Once you select a fav profile its always a great sound and you can explore your guitar's tone and playing. Its an amazing tool, highly recommend.
Fantastic Sound / Challenging to Set UP

FANTASTIC sound and very portable. VERY difficult learning curve. Must rely on Youtube for help. Manual not packed with details. This unit is capable of doing EVERYTHING you need, but you need to be an engineer to deal with it. I had used a friend's toaster version of the profiler so I knew what I was getting into and felt it was worth it.

To get the full "chameleon" like effect of the Kemper units, is there a specific cabinet/speaker combination you need to use? Perhaps one that is incredibly neutral so that the Kemper could do its thing and make it sound exactly like the program wants it to sound.
Not really, but you can give us a call at 866-498-7882 and we can get you a few cab options with pricing.submitted6 years ago

Does the floor model sound like the lunchbox or rack? I have heard the floor model has a different processor?
IT does have a different processor, but they did so without having to sacrifice the sound. I would recommend looking up some demo videos of it to get an idea what it sounds like.submitted6 years ago
